I am from that area ,and If you want to know how the Muslim passion for religion is being misused by its small minority ,the case is the best example. The controversial question is from the part of a well known book by an ex MLA of Kerala ,Sri PT Knunju Muhammed. In that there was a word Muhammed. The hardcore muslim activist Popular front of India interpretted this word as the Prophet and alleged that the Professor insulted Islam and so and so. They made so many violet protest in the College area and due to this ,the authorities suspended that Proffessor from the college and police arrested him!!!. But the PFI was not satisfied. They held an Islamic court and the court senteced this punishment. That talibanists did this horror with the help of Hawala /Black money from Gulf area.
The aim of this barbaric crime was to disrupt the communal harmony of Kerala. And to a large extent they have succeeded in that aim. Now the Non Muslims of Kerala will dare to use even the letter “M” .
