facial hair!!!!!!

Laser only if the hair is very coarse.

If you go to a good electrologist, scarring is not common. I’ve been having it done for ages (concentrating on one area at a time) and I just get temporary redness for less than an hour. Sometimes with a different modality, it’s normal to get a few pin prick scabs that will fall off after a few days and shouldn’t leave any marks. these are the only 2 acceptable types of reaction.
sometimes, before the electrologist has managed to find the best settings for you, the scabbing might be a bit more but she should never say ‘it’s normal’ and should always try to minimise it as much as possible on subsequent treatments.
any more severe reaction is not normal and not attempting to minimise reaction is not acceptable.

there are lots of things one needs to educated themselves about before trying either, to be informed whether it’s working or not. e.g for laser, when to go back for next treatments and treatment settings. for electrolysis, what it should feel like when a properly treated hair is removed and how to make a treatment plan.

some people have laser or electrolysis for aaages without any improvement because they just listen to the practitioner.
