Was on it in 2005 when it was new thing but closed by account in about a month, then in 2007 found out that some of friends are using that to message eachother and its the new hotmail, so reopened the account.
One has to be very carefull about privacy issues, there are some sick people out there so make sure to only have profile visible by those who you trust. I have seen some drama with some people i know because of lack of privacy on FB. You cant control the sick people, but u can control ur privacy settings.

What setting do you recommend. Mine is open to invitations , I get invitations but I do not send invitations to join my friends list.
How are potential employers able to see a profile which is not open to public ? I am asking because once I read that potential employers are screening candidates based on what in on their FB profile.

^^ That is correct, employer do screening for potential employees to know their online presense and activities so be very careful with that.

I had my doubts about FB in the beginning, but I really thing it's an excellent tool to connect with friends, especially if they are as geographically dispersed as the ones I have.
