Seriously, STA never likes the idea of uploading pictures of family members on fb because he thinks fb is less secure for sharing pictures. :@:

I just use it as a point of contact with people i dont see regularly. Other than that im hardly ever on it. Ive seen people who get consumed by facebook but then thats their fault not facebooks. Mark zuckerberg is still a douchebag

I've seen people get addicted to the point where they will spend all their time on it...I can sorta understand why you might use it to keep in touch with friends and family but for me it would never replace contact in real life.
I hate the people who constantly use it to boast, they're just as annoying as certain friends who will use it to b*tch about spouses and in laws...that kind of thing only leads to trouble!

An innocent tongue-in-cheek comment I made on one of those stupid FB quizzes was the catalyst to major DRAMA in my family. An idiot cousin misconstrued my comment, and made some nasty comment back, my sister got ticked and told him to back off, being the insecure idiot that he is, he made another snide comment (all this is happening on my wall for the world to see!) so I sent him short and sweet PM telling to STFU and end it...his feathers got ruffled, so he sent a mass email to the whole KHANDAAN demanding an apology from me (he's 7-8 years younger than me!), so my hubby got ticked and called him to discuss, he cussed my hubby out...that's when it got real ugly. I will tolerate anything directed towards myself, but NOT towards my husband. I basically stopped talking to my khalla and other elders of the family for letting a ghar ka beta disrespect a damaad like that, especially since it was unprovoked. This cousin is a loose cannon, total loser who has brought nothing but shame to his family (DUI, credit card scam etc)...but my khalla is an emotional basket case and so her son is tolerated. Anyway, very long story short, it was about 18 months before things settled down and ghar kay baray smoothed things out with my hubby...

Since then, I have majorly cut back on FB, in fact, I totally give it up and deactivate every Ramadan, kind of like Lent :-)

At this very moment i am sitting in the lounge of a hotel and over hearing two people on the front desk. A girl has added one of the two as friend and the other is seeing all her pictures from others account and commenting like, she's gained weight etc. her friend is hot etc

yeah…fb deff led to tons of drama with my family in Pakistan, so my advice, add only who you want, share what you want, and don’t care what people say over it.

FB is turning out to be such a control freak in our lives… I finally deactivated it for few months while I study for my board exam, and frankly I’m a lot happier and don’t give a damm about the stupid things I used to before. OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND works quite well.

^ reason why I hate the female superficial mind. Recently I showed some aunties my wedding pics, and all they commented on who was fat or got fatter and then asked me how much gold my in-laws gave me. WTF

A family member was in an accident... we were all so worried about him and didn't know how he was doing until he posted a picture of himself on FB from the ER and left a status update. Now that's a time you gotta love FB. :D

My brother’s ex fiance put up her engagement pictures on her profile and FIVE guys contacted my brother warning about how she lied about studying in a medical school and lived with them in an apartment in name of living in a hostel and stuff like that and how she told everyone ‘abb mau sachchay dil se taubah kar chuki hoon’ and moved on to the next one. when confronted, she admitted and it all and said ‘abb mainay tauba kar li hui hai’ :smiley: later her parents disclosed she was nikahofied to one of her cousins and divorced and what not and they didnt tell us because she was not rukhsatified so it was not important for us to know ! and well a bundle of lies !! … it was all called off ofcourse ! so FB is not an evil for all ! :halo:

^ I dont see what that ex fiancee did wrong. If she lived in an apartment with each of those 5 guys, they were also living with her. So what is their problem?

OK - this girl exaggereates a bit - abt studing in medical school. I think those who contacted your brother are no good people - trying to take down a girl.
