How is interacting with those same people (of opp sex) off fb any different from doing it online?. I suppose we all are mature here who dont add randomn people just for the heck of it. So I dont see an issue with using facebook or any other such site. And there is no rule that you have to share your pictures with them. Facebook has a good set of privacy settings for you to use for the same purposes.
