The stress is on social networking sites …FB just represents a more global avenue than any other…ultimately we can in the same vein say the blame is not on any media but the person and their values and morals…however these are portals available and do provide a platform for initiating such misdemeanours…

I think Facebook can be more “evil” because there’s no moderation. Here at Gupshup, if some “bad” stuff happens online, management has always intervened if it is specifically related to Gupshup premises. You can write say do pretty much anything on Facebook.

Also, here people are more private.

But again, if you have a tendency to get into trouble, you will, anywhere.

don’t you think is it same kind a stress that our “mullas” put when internet was being adapted in families. emm .. oh internet is so open, internet has adult material, it should not be allowed bla bla .. .. ??

it all depends on how to use a particular thing. good or bad.

I totally understand and respect your point of view. I can share number of stories related to facebook where people met on facebook and all that stuff. But I always say, those people were suppose to meet eventually. That is in their nature. they can’t stay satisfied with one person so they keep looking. If its not facebook then it would be something else. but there would be something.

Anyway, I accept the fact that facebook has provided lots of opportunities but I CAN’T accept the fact when people pin point facebook and forget about all other websites.

Facebook is way more moderated than this gupshup forum. you have control on each and every single thing that you have on facebook. what to share and what not to. it depends on how to secure your facebook account and I bet most of the people don’t even bother to give a look at security page of facebook.
