F.O.B. V.S. A.B.C.D.

Re: F.O.B. V.S. A.B.C.D.

I guess i'm in the medium ... born in pakistan and moved here in my teenage years ... i'm not really a fob (even though i have been called that) and not really an abcd either (surprisingly i've been called that too) i'm kinda sorta maybe in the middle ... i don't have any dislike for any one particular group but i see some fobs with impeccable english (grammar wise) and some abcds with awesome urdu and i'm just in awe of their awesome abilities

Re: F.O.B. V.S. A.B.C.D.

What is a BBP???

Re: F.O.B. V.S. A.B.C.D.

Same here libran,

Ive seen some FOBs that know much more about western culture than I do…:cb: Its quite funny actually. And then you have some ABCDs that are much more traditional in their thought process than FOBs.

I think the image of a FOB is becoming quite unclear now because people in Pakistan are not so uninformed as we think they are. They do know what is going on in the world outside of Pakistan.

Im a fobby ABCD…if that makes sense. I think. Still figuring it out.

Basically Brain Problem ... ^o)

Re: F.O.B. V.S. A.B.C.D.

^ That's exactly how I feel. Sometimes I feel a bit lost, as to what I am, more British or Pakistani. :( But at other times I feel may be we get the best of both worlds. But I don't really think we can label people and put them into little boxes, like Reha said I've seen more Paskitaniat in some western born kids and more Westernism in some Pakistani kids, if that makes sense.

I just feel all these terms like ABCDS, Mangoes, Teps, FOBS, are so negative, we 're individual people in our own ways. I'm not sure about other cultures but I've seen quite some attitude thrown either way, from people from Pakistan towards desis from abroad and vice versa.

Re: F.O.B. V.S. A.B.C.D.

im in the middle and happpppy. hate abcds, if you're just abd that's fine.

Re: F.O.B. V.S. A.B.C.D.

Re: F.O.B. V.S. A.B.C.D.

You forgot DCBA's (Desis Confused by Americans).

I'm told I'm an ABCD but I prefer ABD. My Urdu is horrible so I never speak it, let alone Punjabi, but at least I'm a devout Muslim :

I've been called a coconut before-it's a compliment really. Brown on the outside, white on the inside.

Re: F.O.B. V.S. A.B.C.D.

That makes two of us. I haven't been called that in a while now, but I thought it was original /=

Re: F.O.B. V.S. A.B.C.D.

Is coconut another word for ABCD?

Re: F.O.B. V.S. A.B.C.D.

Indirectly, yes.
