Thanks monk for sharing. It seems as if rape epidemic is rife in institutes like Harvard. All power to the women who are standing up against this menace and highlighting it, sadly in Pakistan crimes like these are swept under the rug in the name of honour.

I am not denying the problems in madressas, waisay i live in UAE and my kids are studying in a pakistani madressa and i know many families who are doing the same (not for saving money but due to quality of education)

Ok, these are odd ball stories, it’s not the NORM. I am safer here on a college campus any day than any random street in Pakistan. Even main thoroughfares of Karachi are more dangerous for me as a female than college campuses in the US.

No, we’re not all being raped, and you don’t need to hide your kids from mainstream secular educational system to protect their innocence.

I have no interest in how these goras live or waste their lives, but the thread will be used as referance for some one who tries to comment on madressa system based on his/her very low knowledge of the madressa system.

I would rather be happy to take afghan taliban or any other correct mujahideen over rapist/paedophile armies of west.
