yanzala -- i borrowed my mother in law's bobbi brown cake liner (in brown) once and it looked great. i really like it.

Hey everyone, the other day I saw a commercial for Almay Eye Intense color coordinated eyeshadows, eyeliners, and mascara. The whole idea behind the new line is to bring out your natural color by using color palletes that play up your color.
I have brown eyes, so I'll go into my experience here, but they have palettes for blue, green, hazel, and brown eyes. The color scheme was purple to highlight naturally brown eyes. I thought it was weird, as I've only ever used black liquid liner on my top lids, and black kohl on the lower lashline. Being intrigued, and searching for a new look, I ended up getting the purple liquid liner ($7.25 @ Walgreens) , and I got a cheaper purple kohl pencil to line my bottom lashline. I didn't get the eyeshadow because I already had those three colors in my makeup stash.
I put on my new stuff today, and suprisingly it looks really good!! The Almay liquid liner in Purple Amythest is a really pretty purple with flecks of gold in it. I does bring out my eyes in a more natural way than my signature black liner. I will definitely be wearing this more often during the day (I still love the dramatic look that black gives for night, so I'll stick to that for nightime).

brulee...i saw the ad too and i thought the same thing...how weird purple liner might look....
i wanted to try it too....they have a lavendar shadow and deep purple liner and a lighter shade to accent eyes i believe.....
hmmmmcan u post a picture of the shadow and how it looks with the liner and all???

shweetdreamz, i'll try to take a pic when I'm at home--don't have my camera w/ me. Btw, I've heard that the Almay I-intense eyeshadow palettes are not that great (i.e. not enough pigment in the eyeshadows). That's why I skipped on the Almay eyeshadow, but took a look at their colors and copied them.

Hmm ive worn purple eyeshadow.. it didnt really "enhance" my brown eyes really.. black liner accents every eye color.. I want something that will make my eyes bluer :(

Sara why dont you try a pink/magenta/violet color as reds are opposite to blues on the color wheel and are the best contrast, so i think a vivid pink would make the blue pop out quite a bit.

^ Hmm it wudn't make my lenses look fake or anything? I'll try it.. they're greyish blue, i tried liner n mascara, to get teh Aish effect in her loreal ad :p i think ill try fake eyelashes soon..

^^sara, fake eyelashes are awesome. Btw, if you want the fake eyelashes to look more natural during the day time, you can buy individual lashes that you can glue on near the end of the eyes rather than the full set.

ok what kind of eyeliner looks good on yellowish skin? i dont want glittery stuff and im sick of using black and purple's like weird. btw bobbi brown lipgloss is excellent, and mac mascara is unbelievable

Sara, it is special glue for eyelashes. It isn’t difficult to get the lashes on, you just have to make sure they are not on crooked. In my experience, it hurt a lot when I was taking them out because I guess the glue was really strong. The first time I wore them was for my wedding, and on my wedding night I had to pull them out in front of hubby because I couldn’t get them out myself. He helped me take them off, and in the end we laughed about it.

I went shopping for eyemakeup remover yesterday.. ended up spending 1000 on eyeshadows and brushes :o but it's really cute, its a magenta shimmery loose powder.. im gnna try it tonight :Pretty:
