Experiment!

Re: Experiment!

Ooooh... count me in for the oily skin experiment...... when will you start that one Gina?

Re: Experiment!

Waiting for oily skin too!

ok this was my experience using the ingredients Gina told me..

my skin became uber soft!!the salt and cream mixture helped in exfoliating and removing my dry skin patches while the tiny amount of almond oil after was a great moisturiser!that was quite a suprise:D

however the 1st time..it took me a while to wipe out cream from my face ..kept splashing water over n over..then i took some wet tissues...that helped lol

all in all...i really liked this simple to make and effective recipe to combat dry skin!!!inshallah..ill try doing it once a week now atleast!!!jazakallah Gina:D*hugs*

My skin type is very Dry with flaky patches...no matter what moisturiser I use...

So, I cleansed my face for 4 days with Brown sugar, milk powder, olive oil.....and then applied vaseline on damp face...

My skin felt noticably better...much softer and moisturised...the patches are almost gone....I think I am gonna keep doing it, if not every night, then every other night...thumps up

Re: Experiment!

My skin isn't so bad to begin with...but it tends to get dry, especially because of the weather here. I used the above ingredients as well, and loved how soft the skin felt afterward.

Waiting for the oily skin experiment!

Re: Experiment!

what about combination skin ??

Still waiting on cricket Pari, Maria and xoxo to come post their views..

Re: Experiment!

sorry for the mega late reply, I started late because it was very difficult to find sesame oil for some odd reason. Anyway I followed the instructions and did notice my skin felt very soft. However I have a few whiteheads now,I dont know whether its to do with this mixture Iv been using or something else. The yoghurt mixture immediately cools your skin down so that was cool.Overall I feel it did help me but not entirely and Im scared of using it again because of the whiteheads. Id like to try the other remedies you gave though Gina:)xxx

You won't get whiteheads from any of the given ingredients :)

Team A = alishaht and Seabee

*They cleansed their skin with 2 tablespoons milk powder, 2 tsps olive oil and brown sugar.

*They applied regular Vaseline onto damp skin.

Team B= Maria and wonder_eyed

*They cleansed their skin with 2 tblsp cream and 1/2 tsp regular salt

*They applied almond oil

Team C = cricket Pari and xoxo

*They cleansed with 2 tablespoons yoghurt and 1 tablespoon brown sugar

*They applied glycerine and sesame oil.

Re: Experiment!

Re: Experiment!

Gina, is this milk powder the nido milk powder..does it have to be a specific brand... also the brown sugar ..can it be the one we get in our grocery store aisle... or does it have to be gur... ??? pls clear I would like to use this for my face and hands inshAllah

Any brand on milk powder like Nido.. brown sugar the granular kind.. not gur :( the one u'd use to bake chocolate chip cookies.
