Well some1, I personally don’t think that Indian team is such a bad team. Quite unfairly, you are only pinpointing all bad things in a team without giving any consideration, whatsoever, to the positives. As a matter of fact, I am impressed by Indian bowling so far this season. Nehra is bowling with a new vigor and passion and Pathan is also proving himself to be quite incisive. Bala jee has been excluded unfairly and he can also bowl really well in all sorts of conditions. Between Bala jee, Nehra, Pathan and Zaheer Khan, Indian team of course does not possess one of the finest bowling attacks but certainly it is a very decent one. As a matter of fact, Indians might face more serious problems managing this attack in test matches than ODIs because this attack might not be able to take all 20 wickets between them in a test match. But I guess that is where Kumble has been helping them for so long, at least in test matches. But for ODIs, take my word, this current Indian attack with some support from Harbhajan Singh is just fine and there is no need to panic.
I think that, surprisingly, it is the Indian batting which has been disappointing Indians fans for some time now. With Dravid an exception, rest of the players are totally inconsistent. Again emphasis is on word “Inconsistent”. Don’t think that Youraj Singh or Kiaf do not possess talent. They do but they simply don’t display it as frequently as they should.
I also want to pinpoint a Himalayan mistake made by the Indian Board. The way they have treated the captaincy issue would simply breed new seeds of confrontation in this team forever. The way the Indian Board has humiliated a giant like Dravid is absolutely mind-boggling. No matter how humble and a team-player Dravid is, after all he is a human being and the Indian Board has hit him where it hurts the most, his ego. And if this entire ugly captaincy episode was not enough, idiot Sehwag gave some extremely controversial statements openly supporting Ganguly as a captain. One should not take the captaincy issue lightly and I think in the coming days, this issue will take its toll on Indian cricket.

Zaheer/Nehra/Balaji are all excellent bowlers. Much better than what India has had to make do with in the past couple of decades. The one that needs some living up to expectations though is Pathan.
Nehra is specially cute when he gets pissed off and starts cussing at everyone on the field :D
Zaheer is a cute bacha too and regardless of how macho he tries to look that aggression does not suit his bubblegum looks. Nice bowler though.
Laxmipathy Balaji is a good bowler and looks like a decent man. Never seen him lose his temper on anybody on the field even on junior teammates. At most when disappointed he'll put his hands on his hips and smile sarcastically.

Exactly my point - we don’t want “shareef” bowlers…we want bowlers in the Bret Lee or Shane Warne mould who are aggressive and have an “eye for an eye” attitude.
The selectors have a big role in this. They must give potentially aggressive players(batsman or bowler) a decent run, so the player can take risk without the fear of losing his place in the side if unsuccessful.

I disagree Some1. A bowler's measure can never be taken by his expertise in intimidating others. Glenn McGrath one of the worlds finest bowlers is a decent man who is just as shareef as balaji. He only lets his bowling do the talking. Same can be said for Rana Naveed who is a very humble man yet he devastated the Indians in ODI's earlier this year. When bowlers get aggressive they lose focus and starts spraying wides and no balls all over the place. Take our own Show-Ape Actor for example.
Just because Balaji is a decent person doesnt mean he cant bowl.

LMAO!!! Man, McGrath is universally acknowledged as one of the biggest sledgers in the game! Aggression in a bowler is as important as his line and length. Cricket is all about mind games.

The danger signs are there, India needs to introduce new faces alongside the senior players now. Failure to do so will lead to a situation similar to what Pakistan faced after the last world cup. Many of these players have been hyped up and now are living on past glories. Personally, I think the victories against Pakistan and a superb performance against Australia were the downfall of this team. They got carried away with the hype which surrounded these series and did not focus on the task ahead. Someone needs to knock their heads together and bring them down to earth.
