Re: Exaggerating Writers
I don't know if Qudratullah Shahab made any exaggerations from whatever i've read of his work, except that churailoon wali story where he spent time in that haunted house, but it doesn't have to be exaggeration
An example from shahab nama....The bus trip.It was the longest trip ever and i don't think anyone would want to read so much details.Exaggeration is the reason i never ended that book.
What about the chapters dealing with some magic done by Israel and I found it also exaggerated when Mumtaz Mufti and probably Qudartaullah Shahab mentioning some saints (harre jubbe / amame wale) catching bombs on border during 1965 India-Pak war

most of is mentioned by Mumtaz Mufti not Shahab. Mufti even exaggerated Shahab sahab's personality as well.
Allakh Nagri is full of these stories not only about Qudratullah Shahab, but also some other characters. Book i was reading a month ago, Talash was also that sort. Mufti himself wrote somewhere that he's fond of day dreaming, he intentionally goes into dream when awake and fantasies about things

Somehow Qudaratullah Shahab's personality has also been portrayed exaggeratedly by Bano Qudsia in 'Mard e Abresham' as well. Though Bano Qudsia and Ashfaq Ahmed were highly criticised by Mumtaz Mufti for not agreeing to what he wrote about Qudratullah Shahab in 'Alakh Nagri'.
Its not the case with only Qudratullah Shahab's personality, its with all writers who wrote about some saints and holy figures as our society can't accept authenticity without supernatural stuff.
