try a light shimmery powder eyeshadow in nearly nudes or pastels, an sweep em across once with a brush, mascara.. n for the face, a pinkish lipstain n it'll last a while n not look too overdone..
oh my oh my, ’ stuck up ladies’
? hell no ![]()
they r always nice and kind
but for real, ehmm.. well u can find tons of info on the net. ![]()
If that wont work, just tell me, I m tha bomb at putting make up.
Alot of peeple come to me ask for such advice, and I wont even charge you ![]()
Apply a color that is a bit darker than your normal skin tone, neutrals are good. For example if you have light skin a pink tone will work very well. Here’s the important part. Apply it only to the apple of your cheek. Smile and apply the blush to the round portion of your cheek. Dab it on and blend with your fingers in a circle. Do not go back and forth. Your blush does not need to go into your hairline. Remember its call blush and apply where you would blush if you were given a great compliment from a gorgeous man. Bronzer also works well for a suntan look. Again apply it at the apple of your cheeks and dab a bit at the top of your forehead and your chin. I will say that I think these steps will help
p.s. ladies (and some gents) I wont charge for this advice ![]()
I think often people forget to use blush so they look so pale. Some color on lips, such as soft pinks in lipsticks are nice to. The plain very glossy lip gloss is old news. Moral of the story use blush, not like a clown but some to avoid looking like a jin.
I wear a little make-up everyday usually (especially for work -- so that I look older than the students ;) )
I wear eyeliner and sometimes concealer or something, and lip gloss. I'm trying to get myself to wear lipstick more often at work (lipstick fades fast on my lips so I gave it up long ago).
Some new things to try --
go without eye/lip make up and maybe do a light, pretty pink blush instead. or go with a fun eyeshadow shade, but downplay other makeup so that it doesn't seem like too much.
i dont wear any make up... just a bit of concealer under the eyes to hide my bags :( (i hate all about eyes)
Hmm I didnt wear makeup regularly either until recently.
Now adays a must have is : mascara after using an eyelash curler and lipgloss. I LOVE wetslicks by cover girl. Face Powder by Burts Bees is fine since I have bad skin and it is the product my skin can safely handle. Sometimes I use eyepencil to enhance my eye since I am told I have nice eyes :Pretty:
If you want to experimen with eyeshadows, try L'Oreal. I dont wear it often but I like their colors. Most their shades should suit our desi skin tone (a.k.a olive skin). Why dont you buy a couple colors and experiment??Thats how you will know what suits you and what doesnt. Plus they are pretty cheap so the experimenting wont be heavy on your pocket.
Good Luck with it :) It should be fun.
Bright pink colours are in nowdays or will be at this summer.
During daytime apply light pink shade eyeshadow and same colour darker lipstick or lipgloss, during night, for going out dark pink shade eyeshadow and lighter lipstick.
i usually use lipstick. sometimes i wear eyeliner when i have too much time on my hands. try using different colours of eye liners, looks cute sometimes.
Thank you girls! ![]()
(and Prex)
Blusher is a good idea! I’m gonna try that today and I found a pink eyeshadow in my mums room so will try and see how that looks.
Meanwhile, keep posting!
Nice thread Shinooo
I use to wear mascara and lipstick everyday at work. Shinoo! try differnt colors of lipstick with differnt colors of lipliners , dark liner with light lipstick n dull/creamy lipsticks with sharp liners it really looks nice .
Shino !Why don't you try silver or differnt colors of eyepencil instead of black eyeliner it can also give you unique look and believe me it will look great on you especially silver eyepencil.
hmm not much makeup, just the moisturising creme that has a slight tint, as for lipstick, never use it except on occasions, sometimes do a bit of lip gloss but thats abt it
what i do do is hair, when i had it styled each day ide comb it perfectly and really a different hair style makes a huge difference
why dont you go natural on the makeup?? it looks better in the summer, light and easy on the eyes ;)
I like to wear surma.
A few years ago when my mom used to be invited for dinners and stuff where she had to dress up (which was almost never), Ammi would do this thing of using her lipstick as blush. I dunno how, but it worked really well. She chose a color she liked and applied it liberally to her cheeks. It was quite dramatic. smile
we're talking about everyday make-up here! i reckon for day to day use you should just stick to cleanse, tone, moisturise and use blusher if you look too pale..... and keep a vaseline handy in your bag for lips and rough areas! done! i think make-up shouldn't be ODed - use it only around special people or on special occasions otherwise the novelty wares off!
isn't mac drag queen make up? mehnazz..is there something ur not telling me?
die ur hair a little lighter(b/c its summer) maybe a shade of brown, or get streaks(but they damage ur hair)..usually summer comes with the lighter colors, pink blush, or a light bronzer, pinkish colors-lipsticks..do u guys use liquid eyeliner? in my experience, normal eyeliner is the best
Yes Aishaaa, I'm really a man. I like to wear outrageous wigs and I love MAC .... gotta love spokesperson Rupaul.
dying your hair is a good idea, but if you r a little scared then just get the streaks done.
as for make up: i always love putting on pinks, they work so well.
I also have acne prone skin shinoo, but u can still wear foundation, get a non-comodogenic(sp?) foundation. Mac's got one the best foundations, give em a try. always always match your foundation with your skin colour don't go one shade darker or lighter, and then there are different colours makeup you can do.
Day 1: do all pinks, do the eyes a lil heavy then the rest of the face, it looks really nice, use a gold or vanilla eyeshadow first on the whole eye b4 you put the colour on, it brings life to the eyes, then used light and dark pinks, dark on the inside lid and light on the front lid, then use the eyeliner and mascara, you can change ur makeup by just changing the way u put the eyeliner on. use a lil light blush just to give a polished look. Then use a lipliner and a really light lipstick or one of those tinted lipglosses, and wholaaa u r done! it takes around 5-8 mins to do all this.
Day 2: Do all Bronze colours
Day 3: Go with all golds.
Day 4: Mix Greens and golds. (u r prob thinkin Whoa Green!) Green works with all skin colours u just gotta find the right one, i have this one green with bit vanilla colour and it looks amazing on the eyes. Do heavy eyes and normal lips and skip the blush :)
Day 5: Go all browns, mix and match light and dark browns.
Day 6: Do the nude beech colours, the look amazing in summers
Day 7: [thumb=E]col118292_5995868.JPG[/thumb] use this colour makeup, it looks great.
Wholaa there u go ur one week girl. more then the colours u gotta learn the techniques the right colour not put on properly is as bad as a wrong colour. some more tips:
Don't wear clashing blush and lipstick, they should be in the same colour family
Don't wear navy blue eyeshadow, stick with neutrals or black which looks smoky, navy tends to look dirty.
Don't ever wear rainbow style eyeshadows, always blend the edeges of colour.
Well i hope this helps! Am i making sense? its so easy to just demonstrate than writing.
Trust me on all that i've said my friends trusted me with their engagement and nikkah makeup and they looked stunning in it so i know what i am talking about :) alright let me know if you have any questions.

Wow rimsh, thank you sooo much for your reply ![]()
It’s very informative.
I went out today and got myself a few eye shadow’s and looked around for a foundation. I’m scared to buy one cuz I really don’t know how to match one with my skintone. I’ve never bought one before so I don’t know how/where to test it. I just know that it looks hideous if the foundation doesnt match ur skincolour! SO I for one am not going to make that mistake
Looked around for a haircolor and saw some really cool ones. I matched a few with my hair and red looked really nice
I think I’d like to have streaking done, like my sis did. You think I should get it done by a professional or try it myself or ask a friend?
One more thing, I’ve always bleached my sideburns but recently thought of waxing. Now that’s again something I’m afraid of trying bcuz u hear soo many stories about getting back thicker hair etc. SO if anyone has advice/pointers/tips etc please do post ![]()
And yes I know this is an extremely shallow and girly topic, I usually don’t care about this kinda stuff but recently been feeling reallly bland and dull. Sometimes little changes change your whole outlook on more important things (ok that totally didn’t make sense :-p)
Thank you everyone for ur reply ![]()
Thanks Rimish!
I always use nudes/bronzes have tried some pinks/biege with success...but want to branch out and have some change.
What about brown girls using white liner/eye shadow?
I've seen it look great on goris but haven't figured out a way to use white eyeliner near my lashes..and other shades?
As for everyday...i use to wear eyeliner/mascara daily but have gotten very lazy :)
I use sunscreen/moisturizer and eyeliner only if i feel like i need the pep up.
hmmmmmmm...........i never wear make-up...............
I wear it everyday if i go out in fact I wouldnt be seen dead without it!
What sort of eyeshadow should I use that wont crease?
