Euthanasia

Re: Euthanasia

IDK... (I dont know)...I always say you need to walk a mile in those particular shoes before you can truly understand.

If you have a fatal disease...do you go for aggressive treatment which will make your last days nothing but misery? Or enjoy the shorter time that you have left...and perhaps even move things along with medications? I think Allah/God would forgive an overuse of morphine in the case of terminal and painful cancer patients yeah? You can't truly know what you'd want until you face that situation I think.

As far as a person who is unable to express their wishes...my heart breaks for them. Like Terri Schiavo, the woman in a vegetative state whose husband got legal permission to cease IV hydration and feeding. Her parents wanted her alive and thought that she would want to remain alive. Her husband differed, fought in the courts and won. She died after 17 days of no food or water.

Lesson to be learned...think about it and then write your will or at the very least make your loved ones aware of what you would want to happen in such a tragic situation.
