I must say that Everyone who took penalty after Beckham took extra time to adjust to Penalty spot as it was softer than expected and after suffering Beckham warned his teammates after that. Yes it was a terrible penelty but it wasnt all his fault.

yes, I also heard a wind was blowing through the stadium which affected the flight of the ball . Plus as beckham was about to kick the ball, he slipped on a bug which was laying there which altered his kick. Also, there were these portugese fans who were making all sorts of noise to distract him and that is just plainly unfair. Everything must be in tip top condition as the greatest footballer in the world, david beckham, prepares to kick the ball. I think it is really unfair that fans were screaming, wind was blowing, grass was slippery, bugs were everywhere. It is just simply unfair. By the way, what was that guy in front of the goal post doing there, y'know, the guy called the goalie.. I think the greatest football player of all time, david beckham, should be given a empty net to kick to. It is really a unjust gesture to have a goalie in front of the greatest football player of all time david beckham as he is about to kick the ball. Next time, there should be a 10 man crew to take care of the wind, the grass, the bug, the goalie, and the fans. Also, FIFA should make a special goal post which is 1000 feet tall, and 1000 feet wide for the greatest football player of all time, david beckham, to kick the ball to.

if that happens i will ban myself :D

I still dont understand why Sven actually believed that his side could defend a one goal lead for 87 minutes.

Rooney may have talent, but sorry, he is no Pele. I hear people complain about the impact that Rooney's injury had on the game, but even before he limped off, i failed to see any impact.

I still don't believe it. I'm shaking, I'm crying, I'm so fukced. Why?

:D that ban will only hold for a few hours i think :D

Sadi Sobi: this is called 'post traumatic stress disorder' :D

One of the greatest days of my life.. to see England choke and go back home.

First off, the 90 minute goal was a good call because Terry did have his hand on the goalie, which blocked him from jumping up and stretching his hands out.

I've never heard so much "bitching" and whining in my life from the BBC commentators/hosts. You know what will be on the front page of every British paper tomorrow!!

And then they started complaining about the penalty for where Bekham took the kick, yet all the other players scored fine from there. On top of that, Bekham's left foot was too close to the ball to be able to angle it properly, causing it to go wayward and over.

England didn't deserve the win, they were obviously the weaker team throughout. Sol Campbell, Gary Neville and Ashley Cole deserve a round of applaus that they kept the English embaressment to something little.

You try jumping without moving your arms. Plus how could he possibly try pulling the goalie down if he doesn’t even know where the goalie is?

That ref just buckled under the pressure of the home crowd.

naah
his arm was clearly on top of ricardo's
and duh you have to know where your arms are while going for a header thats the whole point of soccer innit no arms ?

How could there be home pressure? 60% English fans in the stadium to Portugese.

A rule is a rule.

put aside the argument
portugal played extremly well
they had the 63% possesion of ball during regulation
shots were 26-10
well 5-5 on goal
but they did exerted tremendous amount of pressure and a goal was inevitable
all in all good game though
i never expected england to put up a fight
my prediction were 3-0 for portugal :D
lol aite so what i still won
as they say important is win not how u win

I'm not denying that, but if you look closely you'll notice that at no time was he aware of who he was standing next to (he didn't look at the goalie once) and at no time did he force the goalie down. It was merely a touch.

It was a bad decision. I say it, the commentators say it and the world says it, so who the **** are you?

Oh well, time to change my sig. 'Fourty years of hurt' has a better ring to it anyway :p

The encounter between Ashley Cole and Cristian Ronaldo was fascinating. Ashley Cole deserves all the applause. He won that battle tonight most of the time although whenever Ronaldo was on the other flank he made an impact.

And also Vassell shouldnt have been there when Rooney went out, Erikkson should have allowed Scholes to go forward and introduce Wayne Bridges on the left side. Erikkson lacks imagination and his neagativity often lets himself down. Also his teeth are :disgust:

To be honest I don't have any complaints about the result. I thought we were 2nd best today and their football was light years ahead of ours. I still don't rate them as a team it was England who were $hit. The midfield was non-existent and we allowed them to attack us non-stop for virtually the whole match.

Once Rooney went off we looked like a bunch of defensive rabbits caught in the glare of headlights. Sven Goran Erricson should piss off he hasn't got a clue.

i say get out and scream as loud as u can
**** happens :)
and who the beep i'm
i won't comment on that

^ I wont agree Xtreme. England were second best BUT Owen was continously threatning in first half. They should have feed him more passes in second half.
