Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Re: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

^^

Yup. Ebert and Roeper gave Kingdom of Heaven two thumbs up! Morons indeed.

Re: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

You guys heard about the "working print" of movie thats floating on the net? Apparently someone working for Lucas distributed it hahahaa.
I still havent seen it. Waiting for the weekend to be over :D

Re: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

I saw it yesterday. Sunday’s late shows are always good, as there is no crowd.

It is a fairly satisfying movie. The transformation was good as it can be, considering Lucas is making a good guy become a bad guy. The premise of Anakin’s transformation was a bit flimsy, though.

In my mind, the movie is as much about Obi-Wan as it is about Anakin. Although Anakin’s role is extremely tough, and Obi-Wan basically got away with being nice and goody goody throughout, from the story’s standpoint, it is Obi-Wan who shines throughout and Ewan McGregor has done an amazing job.

As always, it is the special effects by Lucas that create the whole magic, and this movie shows the amazing imagination of Lucas. Its a breath-taking display of CGI. Top-notch. :k:

Now that all six episodes are complete, to the completely uninitiated, when the DVD comes out, its a good series to watch in sequence… either the sequence of release 4,5,6 and 1,2,3 or the sequence of story-line… 1-6. Eitherway, you will enjoy it tremendously.

Re: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

I saw it on saturday. The movie gets a thumb in the middle from me. The thing that pissed me off the most was the transition between good and evil. One moment he is mourning and the next he proceeds to kill little kids. If someone can turn evil that fast than god bless us all. Honestly...how could you turn from a humble, loving person to a cold hearted monster from one moment to the other.

And some lines were really cheesy to say the least. Like at the end, when darth vader is told that padame is dead, he goes on to scream "Nooooo"...that was the final nail in the coffin.

Re: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

The dumbest of all movies :nook:

Re: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

The Nooo part most people have mentioned was a take on Frankenstein..this along with Lord of the Rings ROTK was one of the few movies I've ever seen where the audience actualy broke out into applause...(althought SW:ROTS outdid LOTR because we had Star Wars nuts switch on their light sabers before it started!)

The minor quibbles aside..I will be watching this movie again..like LOTR this movie is definitely worth watching again..

Re: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Right on! The real stars of the prequels are Obi Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn (from phantom).

Re: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

^ actually for sheer presence of menace I'd say it's the actor who plays the Emperor...

Re: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

It was an o.k. movie ... fairly satisfying. I think Ewan McGregor and the evil Sith did well in terms of acting ... more convincing than Anakin and Padme, that's for sure. I just didn't feel Anakin's pain ... his acting was lacking. I know he's a good actor cause he did a very good job in 'Life as a House' as did Natlie Portman in 'Closer' .... they just didn't come through for me though in this movie or the previous one. Both of their acting just lacked depth and substance. It seemed very shallow and they weren't convincing enough. Ewan McGregor and Master Yoda did some fine acting though.
