Re: epidural
I don't think I remember much about epidural. That's probably the last thing I'd recall just because there is so much other stuff going on when you are delievery. So yeah its not that bad at all. I was all by myself.. no family around when I got epidural. So no worries ladies, it isn't bad.
Re: epidural
I had pain in the spot they put it in for a month, but then it went away. No other side effects. It didnt help me at all though. Only worked an hour each time (i had it inserted twice cuz it came out ),
Im going for it this time too and hoping it works better.
My mumani though nearly died from a botched up procedure that hit the wrong nerve and she was left partially paralysed and a bit messed in the head for a Month and half after delivery. She didnt recognise anyone. I would like to blame it on the fact it was in apk, but thats not it. Its just risky.
Re: epidural
I wanted to go without one, I had planned a natural birth but close to 20 hours later and on top of that pitocin with gave me contractions from hell I ended up getting one. In hindsight I don't know why I waited that long, it worked perfectly and the whole procedure took no longer then 15 minutes. I found that the spot they inserted the needle in was a little sore for a day or two but after that I had no side effects.
It was a really great birthing experience for me after the epidural and I would for sure get it again for any future babies.

that's horrible, but it sounds like the person putting it in might not have known what the heck they were doing...? :/
Re: epidural
Ya thats what it was. Just her luck. To think u go for the besr after all the research done...and still crap happens... Just her luck
Re: epidural
Yes. the epidural can be the cause of this. I had this problem but my headaches started the next day and it was only when my health visitor pointed out the link between the epidural and the headaches did i go back to hospital and tehy reverseved the epidural. took blood out of my wrist vein and replaced it into my spine and my headache vanished. what happened was the dr pushed the needle too far in and caused a puncture which made me loose blood around my brain. this made my brain unstable and therefore caused headaches. she needs to go back because she will not get better otherwise
