Ok thats it.. draw it is then.
I think it was clear madness in the end. If they were to go for a win they could have atleast had reasonable runrate of 3 atleast till the 60 over mark. Besides I thought they start the chase too late..

well, looks like there is some spirit in the Indian team to even try and hit a few. The teams of the past - pre Ganguly - would have played for a draw from the very 1st ball. This spurt of the chase, even though it didn't yield result here, is important psychlogically in not yielding an upper hand to the english team.

Hats off to Jaffer for an incredible 100. He saved the day for India. Andrew Flintoff did made some mistakes during his captaincy, there were several times when Indian batsmen were able to take single and doubles easily helping them take the pressure off. In the end, both teams would be in the dressing room thinking we could have done better.

Good match overall, both teams will go with equal confidence to next match. Though looks like England gained more from the match than India.

^ Rahul I though India could have continued with their challenge for a bit longer as Tendulkar and Laxman were at the crease. With Kaif still to come if one of them had gone surely the other two could have safely negotiated the remaining overs which would have been less than 10.

You have a point, it looks like they had put in all they had, even Harbhazan, So one more wicket while trying to hit, would have left Kaif. But after Kaif, it was Kumble and SreeSanth. That was scary proposition even with 2-3 overs left..
For India to win Sehwag /Pathan/ or Dhoni should have fired. Nobody did...
Tendulkar looked good during his short stay, he should play more like this...
