That was a clinical chase by England. Right from the first ball they never took pressure of a mammoth target. Joe Root was playing on a whole different level. Even though wickets were falling but they didnt put any brakes. Thats exactly a T20 is all about.

That being said, I'm really skeptical about SA's defending ability of a good target. Just last week Australia chased down their target of 205, that too in SA. I think they are a very capable bowling lineup. May be the way they are managed? This match left serious question marks about them, ofcourse nothing to take away from English performance.

English team is the true black horse of this tournament. They bat so deep, even their tailenders are better batsmen than Pakistan's openers.

After Kohli, Joe Root is the batsman to watch out for.

It takes whole different level of skill set and mental strength to chase 230 against a big team. It was a team effort. Pakistani players should note how the English batters kept taking singles to keep the scoreboard ticking, they did not make it difficult for the following batters by taking useless and selfish dot balls to increase the pressure.

Yes you shouldn't go for a boundary for every ball, but finding gaps for singles and effective running between the wicket is what differentiate a proper batsman from a slogger, and this is also what differentiates athlete players from Naan Nihari and Biryani types.

England reached 50 in 2.5 overs and 100 in 7.3 overs.
(by contrast SA reached 50 in 3.5 overs and 100 in 7.6 overs)

Is that a world record? (esp the fifty). Don't remember any team scoring the first 50 inside 3 overs..
