307/4 .. Laxman and Dravid doing good.
Only concern isthat runrate has come down... !!!! It would have been great if India woudl have finished the day with 360+.

wel I would rather prefer a team which score 300/4 in 100 overs than oen whic is 350 all out. So that way Indian are doing fine.
What is concerns me is that if they slow down little bit more..they will not have enough time to bowl Englan in 2nd ining.
looks like a dull draw.

You could be right AQ. Run pace is slow a little bit.

I hope you are not trying to use this as an excuse. All the commentators think he was out. He played a good innings anyway.

Dravid is playing superbly, hope he gets his double century.
At Lunch India is 403/5
Luxman out for 40
Dravid not out 184
Rahul Dravid reaches his 200 in 452 balls and 26 fours. Great innings, congratulations to him.
Rahul, The Real Match Winner of the Indian Team
Good job!
This is an emergence of a great player.
England reached 114 for no wicket, a lead of 121 runs, as the fourth and deciding test against India looked to be heading for a draw at the close of play on the fourth day.
Marcus Trescothick was unbeaten on 58 and Michael Vaughan on 47 after Rahul Dravid's marathon knock of 217 led India to a first-innings total of 508 in reply to the hosts' 515.
"For us to force a result, we needed some wickets this evening," said Dravid. "Full credit to them, they came out and played positively and we didn't bowl as well as we should have.
"It's a strange game and anything could happen but a draw looks the most likely result."
Trescothick and Vaughan began in typically breezy fashion, scoring at a run a ball in the first five overs before Indian captain Saurav Ganguly introduced leg-spinner Anil Kumble.
But neither his introduction, nor off-spinner Harbhajan Singh's four overs later, did much to slow the run-rate as the England openers scored freely.
Trescothick brought up his 14th test half century and England's 100 with a hook for four off Ajit Agarkar, the century partnership coming off just 143 balls.
Vaughan became the second batsman to score 1,000 test runs in 2002 when he reached 16 after Dravid had achieved the feat earlier in the day.
Earlier in the final session, England finally wrapped up India's innings when Kumble was caught by captain Nasser Hussain at slip for seven off left-arm spinner Ashley Giles and Harbhajan was bowled by Giles for 17.
Andrew Caddick was the most successful England bowler with figures of four for 114 from 43 overs, while Giles took two for 98 in 49 tidy overs.
DRAVID'S DAY
But the day belonged to Dravid, who has scored three successive centuries on the way to 602 runs in the series at an average just over 100.
He batted for almost 10 1/2 hours and faced 468 balls in his highest test innings before being run out after a mix-up with wicketkeeper Ajay Ratra shortly before tea.
"It's part and parcel of the game. I have made mistakes before" said Dravid.
"It was disappointing to be run out (but) it could happen at any time and I was lucky it happened at 217."
The 29-year-old right-hander's previous best test score was 200 not out against Zimbabwe in Delhi in 2000.
He just missed the record for the highest innings by an Indian batsman overseas which remains Sunil Gavaskar's 221 against England at The Oval in 1979.
Dravid received a standing ovation from the crowd and was applauded by the England team as he left The Oval arena.
He also set the record for most runs by an Indian batsman in a series against England, surpassing Vijay Manjrekar's 586 in 1961-62.
RESULT UNLIKELY
A result is now unlikely in the deciding match of the series unless there is a spectacular batting collapse by England on Monday's final day or a sporting declaration by Hussain.
Vaughan, however, suggested there could be a result on Monday.
"There are 93 overs left in the game and we will have to play pretty positively in the morning to force a result," he said. "But on the last day of test match cricket there is always the odd surprise.
"Being realistic it will be tough for us to get a result but you never know, Nasser might declare in the afternoon."
India have not won a test series away from the sub-continent since 1986. The four-match series is level at 1-1.
The match is going towards a draw but England can still post a huge score maybe a lead of around 200 in half way between tea and lunch and put Indians into bat and might have a chance to knockout the whole team.
Remember Barbados, India needed like 107 runs to win but they were all out in 80 runs.
Anything can happen.
But then again they don't have no Walsh or Ambrose in their team.
So basically you are saying india could not break the 16 year old curse of not winning test abroad. And now they enter into the 17th year. :k:

It can happen to any Team. There are many teams who have lost test matches like that. At least we lost the test away from home and to a far better opponent.
The rain finally ruined the last day. The match was heading for a draw anyway. The series ended as a draw. The series will be remembered for Dravid's batting for India and Michael Vaughan's batting for England. The two btsmen far outshone everyone else in the series. One other great moment was the fabulous hitting of Gangauly and Sachin at Leeds.
as for Sidhu, for all his great gems the best one i heard during this series was :
" If my aunty was a man she would have been my uncle". :)
not to offend anyone But the more I hear him , the more I believe in all those Surd Jokes ![]()
It must have been 12:00 O’Clock in the afternoon when he said that ![]()
Hahaha, Sardar Jee ke 12 bajj hi gaye :)
