I said he bowled total 20 overs out of those 20 overs 7 of them were maiden, meaning not a single run was conceded in those 7 (maiden) overs. So if you subtract 7 from 20 that leaves you with 13 overs. And if you start talking the stat language ofcourse you have to include those 7 overs to give the poor guy a good average but in reality he got thrashed for 80 runs from 13 overs. :k:

Zaheer Khan again today had problems with his follow through after bowling the ball and the umpires had a word with him, even though he was not officially given a warning. He has had this problem for sometime now and if it is not corrected soon it can cut short his career. Obviously when the umpires either talk to him about it or give him a warning he probably finds it difficult to concentrate on bowling as his mind is on his follow thorugh. Must effect his performance as well.

Why Subtract only 7 overs - Subtract all the balls where runs were not scored. For example off the remaining 13 overs i.e 78 balls - the batsmen scored 80 runs - the batsmen must have left some balls (or bowler must have bowled some dot balls) Lets Assume X no. of Balls were DOT BALLS - now thsoe 80 runs were score in 78-X Balls .

So the Total no. of overs off which the batsmen scored the Runs were (78-X)/6 .

No I understand your Language and I want a more accurate Picture, So I would appreciate If you can find the No. of DOT Balls(or the Value of X) Kumble bowled.
