Mercenary
you are right.. there are alot of pakistanis working in there these days as security guards n stuff.... however, i havent been in there long time.
I still don't get it. Are u a terrorist trying to target that building? Why does there always be an agenda?
Its just an important building with interesting light combos on special occasions. What's one thing got to do with any thing else. Its people like you that complicate simple stuff.

MF, is this the blue one that came out in 2001 or is there a new one ?
Speaking of the blue one, last year we had three Congress man show up at Eid at our local mosque and give short political speeches for the tn up coming Mid term election. One of them made a point about how he was one of the people who voted in favour of issuing a Islmaic Holiday stamp.
I remember when the stamps were issued in 2001, it was right after 9/11 and our masjid elders requested us to buy as many stamps as we could. We were concerned that if not enough stamps were sold, Post Office may discontinue offering them.
So glad that the stamps are still in circulation though I would love a new design
I searced the websites of all major News networks and only found CBS and Fox News having a report on it. The info is the same as the yahoo article except the below lines that appera in the FOX article:
“Not many religious holidays make the cut. Green and red are used every year to mark the Christmas holiday season, and blue and white – the colors of the Israeli flag – are used for the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.
And the building doesn’t fire up its thousand-watt bulbs for just anyone. The “extraordinary number of requests” cannot all be accommodated, according to a building statement. Lighting up the spire for commercial products and corporate events is out, as is the commemoration of personal events like birthdays or anniversaries.”
TofiBaba your snapshorts are way better then what Fox and CBS had it on its website.
Either way, I digress. No need to over complicate a simple news item. I believe that this was a good gesture on the part of the Empire State Building peeps.
