My biggest concern: The new Pakistani generation has seriously questioning the legitimacy of Pakistan’ very existence. The new generation is openly asking why was this country even created. The humiliation and embarrassment that Pakistanis have to face internationally is unimaginable. Things have reached to a level where almost everyone, if given a chance, would seriously consider abandoning the country. I have never seen things in Pakistan plummeting to this level before.

Musharaff has literally become a curse; a curse that has deteriorated Pakistan’s social, cultural and constitutional fabric to its core. If Pakistani public does not step up and publically demonstrate their remorse to Musharaff’s regime, they have no right to complain about it.

But alas, Pakistani public won’t do any thing. Here is what Pakistani public always does. In Ramadan, millions would sit in “Aitkaff”, another million would show up in Raiwand every year crying for God’s help, and remaining million would go to Saudi Arabia for Allah’s help but none of them would take any practical step in improving its conditions. They will keep praying that Allah will send an army from sky! Musharaff is delivering his speech right now and I am sure half of our public would sway back to Mushraff after listening to his emotional rhetoric.

Instead of working for the foreign power had he even ONCE taken a decision for his people he wouldn't have found so little support for himself...

Those who are still supporting musharraf are truly extremist and i have not a shadow of doubt in my mind that these people will go to any extent to gain a little more worldly possession in this life, even if it means selling every inch of Pakistan to the enemy.

judiciary was like a torn in his ass. ever since CJ was reinstated, mushy was not happy the way SC was dealing with issues dangerous to mushy's power.

and who allowed these independent channels to operate in pak? they had permission from government to run in pakistan.

its all a lie. he knew SC will reject his election farce and invalidate his rigged victory. also the ruling to let NS come back was a slap in his face. CJ was personally looking into missing persons cases which had direct links to mushy and co. so this emergency is not to save pakistan but to save himself and his power. now he'll go mad. congrats to all of mushy supporters in pakistan , and those on these forums. you were right all along abt free media, judiciary etc. i hope you get the same treatment every other pakistani will now get in pakistan under mushy's dictatorship.

Just saw Mushrraf on tv. He blamed CJ and the SC for all the problems that country facing today. He also spoke to people in the US, EU and Commonwealth in English asking them to understand the reasons why he had to take this action.

Dont you think all Dictator do? Although his action is regrettable, blame also goes to people of Pakistan, who were supported him overwhelmingy when he came to power by over throwing Nawaz. Nawaz may have been corrupt but people always had power to replace him. Once you get a dictator you are stuck...
