The questions are not as dumb as they sound, so please do answer, as they sometime makes me think.

1. Why electrons and protons have opposite but exact charge? These exact charges keep atoms stable and have atoms with exact number of protons and electrons - which leads me to my next question …

2. Why do we have exact number of electrons and protons in the universe?

1. That’s asking why the laws of physics are what they are. Some theoretical physicists might know. I wonder if there are any on GS.

2. Is this true? I never thought of the universe being “in balance” in terms of charge. Interesting.
