Re: eid dress = after marriage
Oh, yess! First eid after getting married is a big thing here. My MIL wanted me to look like a dulhan all decked up complete with mehndi coming up till elbows, a tikka and of course gajrae (flowers). LOL! I had so much fun with all the relatives coming and going admiring my MIL’s obediant bahu even when hubby was on duty that day. Still remember that.
And yes, if I wear black or white or any pastel colour in front of my MIL, I still get that look of distaste even after six years of marriage and two kids.
I am a lot ore colourful now than I was pre-marriage.
That said, the yellow jora is simply has the first-eid-after-marriage look and I simply adore it. I just wish I was that fair to carry off the colour.
Lose the matha patti, add more mehndi, glass bangles and flowers and you are ready to meet the relatives on eid.
Come to think of it, I still want that dress. More pics anyone? I would love to see the whole combo.
