Once an egg ruptures, it does live for 12 to 24 hours. Sperm live up to 3 days. Thats why they say best to do the deed just prior to egg release. Its worth a try. I had 3 cycles on clomid and up to 4 ruptured eggs but never acheived pregnancy. I needed to move on to the injectibles. So you dont necessarily get twins with 2 eggs. If it doesnt work this time, she's right to move on to the next step - most docs will not do more than 6 cycles of clomid.
