The brunt of the nuqsaan has been in Azad Kashmir which is literally in tatters. Some time ago, Sardar Sikandar Hiyat Khan gave a rough estimate of 30k dead and 45k injured in A.K. :( This figure is expected to rise when the roads are cleared and all of the remote regions are fully accessed.
Our relatives back home have had some minor injuries but nothing serious. We spoke to them and they are all in shock. Our local mosque in mirpur a.k. has been completely destroyed. Some children were in the mosque at the time when it collapsed and a few dead bodies of the younguns’ have been pulled from the rubble barely recognisable.
Our darul khalafa Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot have been the worst hit. A military hospital is a handful of places hit, roads are piled with debris, all of the villages have been wiped out in Bagh. And quite a number in Rawalakot. Jandi chontra, Poonch, Dadyaal, have all been hit by the quake.
Times like such require a collective effort. I hope you guys will donate dil khol kay just like many of us are doing around the world. May Allah subhana help us deal with this calamity. Ameen, suma ameen.
