Re: dua for parents
Once people came to the Prophet (saw) and said that one of the Suhabi (r.a) is in Naza'a (a state between life and death) and is not able to recite Kalima.
The Prophet (saw) asked them, " Is any one of his parents alive?"
They said, " His mother is alive"
The prophet (saw) said, " Call her"
When his mother came (who was not aware of his son's condition), the prophet (saw) asked her," What are your views about your son ?"
She replied, " He is a very pious and good human being but I am not happy with him due to one reason that he gives more importance to his wife's words than mine"
The Prophet (saw) said, " Would you want to forgive him?"
She said "No, I would not forgive him for that"
The Prophet (saw) said," He is in trouble, as his soul is not able to escape his body. If you didn't forgive him then I would tell people to collect woods and put him in the fire so that when his body is burnt, his soul is able to escape from it"
The mother's mamta couldn't bear this and she said, " I forgive all his mistakes"
The moment she said this, that suhabi was able to recite Kalima and his soul escaped his body
