A week or so ago he was saying that "Rasool key zikar se barh kar koyii zikar hai hee naheen...kyoonkey Allah aur us ke farishtey bhee rasool ke zikar mayn mashghool rehte hain (something to this effect, and referring to the ayah about Allah and his angels send salaah upon the Prophet)" religious debates aside, what exactly is this guy on.
Man.. everything about him irritates me.. from that evil smile.. to his idiotic non-sensical comments..
Those who think the show is there to create religious harmony and that he brings great scholars to TV are probably not aware of one after other scholar who left his show because he did not allow them to say what they wanted.. rather he interjected in their rulings and later had them kicked out of the show...

ravage- there is a difference b/w Allah swt and the angels sending salawat and them being “busy” or “mashgool” with it… this is taking exaggeration to the highest level.
TUMS- yeh i’m the one with issues.. nah after watching mr amir liaqat i feel downright normal =) He is doing no one a service except himself, and i think even he knows this..

I agree with ammarr. What that pervert said was an exaggeration. Truly the best zikr is of Allah. Sending salam and darood on the Prophet :saw: is a separate thing. The Holy Quran also says that surely the hearts find content in the zikr of Allah.
The thing that really amazes me that he is our religious affairs minister, a shame for Pakistan. For God’s sake he is from MQM.. Such posts should have neutral people, and that too not actors.

still to be the presumed Devil's advocate, 'yusalluna' does roughly translate to 'send salawat'. there is no tense to it, had it been a one time thing instead of a continual one it would've been sallaytu, meaning 'sent blessings'.
unless you have exact knowledge about the timings of Allah and his angels sending salawat, I dont think presuming the salawat is continual is that big a stretch.

hmm, I have read all the views here and I have come to the following conclusion and that is we in Pakistan somehow understand the nature and complexity of his job more than the Pakistani expatriates. Indeed the manner in which he has started singing naats is really irritating
but there is a sizable minority that approves of it, so we got to respect that atleast.
His heavy makeup and his wierd sense of style(dressing in particular) notwithstanding, he is indeed doing a great service particuarly when the country is facing all sorts of fanaticism. One must need to give him due for bringing together the ulema of the two major sects at a time when shias are declared kafirs and sunni ulema are targeted one after another. I think we must be cognizant of the fact the a society like ours where it is extremely difficult when it comes to initiating or introducing anything new,for whatever is unacceptable and doesn’t strike our sensitivities,goes contrary to our belief system and ultimately termed a taboo and pushed under the carpet,this is indeed a bold step on part of Geo irrespective of what people think. Ask us who had bombs going off close to their places and live in continous fear of being blown anytime 
Waisay I totally agree with Haris and Code here, who would ever listen to any Mullah’s sermon with such a zeal. Atleast people turn on their tv’s when Dr. Amer is online to listen to his histrionics, his sermons,his program whatver youmay wanna call it.
