Re: 'Double dealing': How Pakistan hid Osama Bin Laden and fueled the war in Afghanis
The difference between USA and contracted tin pot dictators of Muslim countries is that US cleverly chooses far away lands to carry out all it's dirty experiments and keeps its people safe, whereas noxious breed of uniformed leaders of Muslim world conveniently turn their own countries into battlefields and offer their own people's blood as sacrifice.
Anyway. The USA shouldn't really lose heart, it's still not too late, they can break in get the traitor and leave. Might as well, right?
Hint: He's hiding somewhere in Chak Shehzad just like his friend Osama Bin Laden.
All jokes aside, these generals played a double game with innocent Pakistanis. If they are answerable to any entity, then it's people of Pakistan! They were never committed to fight this war, had very little interest in eliminating the self created and self backed terrorists. It's only the lure of dollar aid and 'do more rhetoric' that pushed them to make whatever half hearted efforts they'd made to please the Americans, and keep them off their backs. These generals never cared about protecting Pakistanis from the flames of the fire they help set off in Afghanistan.
The last thing americans tried to do for mush was to send a team to rescue him gracefully. So while americans are themselves confused on who to declare their enemy, it is advisable not to turn their their enemy into your enemy yet.
Re: 'Double dealing': How Pakistan hid Osama Bin Laden and fueled the war in Afghanis
Can't disagree here. Even with all the classisms and corporate greed, you don't have that brazen in your face bs that is there in Pakistan.
I think that it is related to how much accountability an institution feels that it is under for its actions. With the army feeling "hurt" because someone said some hard truths, even if exaggerated, it pretty much shows that nothing has changed in Pakistan. This is why I have pretty much lost all hope for Pakistan now.
An year or so ago, no one literally thought that an ex army chief in self imposed exile will face civilian court in Pakistan. It was an unthinkable thought, it was considered a confirmed impossibility. But what a mighty surprise we have today - an ex army chief's trial is happening right in front of our eyes. So there is this change in attitude and priority in army. A massive and a much needed breakthrough for Pakistan. I don't know what the final outcome of Musharraf trial will be, I have no expectations, but I do know that history has already been made.
As with generals feeling hurt and insulted over some petty political remarks by lousy politicians - well, without really saying much, and offending any over-sensitive ears here, I think its quite accurate to say that over the years Pakistan army has become a state within a sate, accountable to none. The country can go to hell as long as there is win-win situation for the army.
Let's just end the day with bit of an infamous cliché saying that goes something like most countries have armies, but Pakistan army has entire country.
However, having said all the above, I sincerely believe in Pakistan army, and I am stubbornly hopeful that they are, and they will revise and rectify all their strategic blunders and get the country out of this current bloody mess.
Re: 'Double dealing': How Pakistan hid Osama Bin Laden and fueled the war in Afghanis
Double dealing is a very small word when we talk of USA. As far as Afghanistan is concerned nothing better is expected from them. Still Pakistan should stay away from Afghanistan. Let the Afghans sort out their issues, its none of our business.
What has Afghanistan done to Pakistan?
In all wars between Pakistan and India, Afghanistan was neutral. It is Pakistan that uses proxies to destabilise Afghanistan. Come out of your media brain washed mind and see the reality. Afghans have the right to live peacefully and yes they do not recognise the durand line for which they have their own historical reasons. The war in Afghanistan is coming to and end whereas the dawn of war has only started in Pakistan.

Are you acting dumb on purpose?Afghanistan voted against Pakistan's creation in the general assembly, the Afghan prime minister Daud Khan supported Pashtun and Baloch separatists in pakistan as early as 1948, in fact Daud Khan was actively trying to annex half of pakistan's land, and the Afghan government was aiding India by providing them support, just so they can succeed with their 'Loy Afghanistan' dream lolol
Also look at the history of Afghanistan, they have historically invaded South Asia, k*illing, looting and raping Punjab,Sindhi and Kashmiri Muslims*; the Durranis were ruthless against South Asian Muslims, so were the Khiljis,Ghazanhvis,Sher Shah Suri and the Lodhis, they also mass killed thousands of Shia Hazaras changing the demographics of Afghanistan and murdered and abused Nuristanis.
So when i see afghans pointing out Pakistan's human right abuses, i laugh because the Afghans are really hypocritical and ignorant of their bloody history.
