It shows how freely Muslims live in India. But if those maulanas try to force this rule on women, then the law will punish them.

Imagine the plight of India's tennis star Sania Mirza.
She has played mixed doubles with males, and wears dresses that are "provocative" to the mullahs.

So do you think that Sania Mirza should put a veil over herself and give up her career just because some maulanas are crying foul ? I dont think so.

I'm sure Islam allows women to mingle freely with males, if they are professionals. After all, EVERY male does not eye every woman badly !! And if so, its the males that must be punished.

Well If proper Shariah is upheld, AND the need is there for the women to leave her home as such. Then she can.

However, the devil tempts heavily, and Shariah must be followed.

Secondly,
Hajj is a different thing. Your focus is not diverted or distracted, you’re focused on the rituals at hand, and the ibaadah of Allah to even pay attention to the opposite gender.

Who’s to say such pure intentions exist in Hajj? Every year people come back complaining of idiots who rob people during hajj and even worse brush deliberately against women. Shaitaan may not be doing the tempting, but Humans arent incapable of evil by themselves.

Your suggestion that at a time when shariah cannot be enforced, women shouldnt go into a non segregated environment while observing pardah means that given that Hajj is also not crime free women should not practice it?

If you are setting limits on women beyond those mandated by Islam based on the social situation, I dont understand what the basis is for requiring restrictions to be placed on the women and not the men. Perhaps only because we have control over them?

Men has subjugated women for centuries, and in each culture religion women had to fight for the rights. This is more for Muslim Women to fight for...
We can only provide legal and moral support for what has already been achieved in rest of the world i.e. making all population productive not only 50%.
