I don't think you'll see much of it abroad amongst Pakistani couples, because there are strict laws enforced in the west which prevent this menace. Man hits his wife, he goes to jail; works very well! Now many people will argue sometimes its inevitable and all; thats all BS, there's no excuse for a man hitting a woman, regardless of what she did.
One case stands; Muzammal Hassan, the founder of Bridges TV who killed his wife in a ruthless manner. Stabbed her 40 times. The media tried very hard to link his actions to Islam, but the Judge presiding over the matter clearly said that it was a case of extreme domestic violence, not religious inception.
Re: Domestic Violence statistics..
I hope you aren’t married to a Pakistani man. If you are, then our sympathies are with you ![]()

Despite that there are many women, Pakistani and otherwise, who do not use the law to their advantage and continue to suffer because they're too weak to leave.
Re: Domestic Violence statistics..
^ It's changing, the new educated lot does not put up with any of that... They know their rights... Quite rightly so...
Re: Domestic Violence statistics..
^what ur saying is right Spock... But in reality these women do not call the police, unless the violence is lifethreatening...even then they take the step very late..
I guess these are women wo cant or won't be independent...

You have no idea. My mother knows a woman whose daughter is married to some guy in the UK and that woman herself told my mother that her daughter suffers regular abuse (mental, verbal, physical) at the hands of her husband/in-laws.
When my mother asked why she doesn't complain to the police, the women responded with the standard desi rhetoric about Izat *and divorce and all that. And the s*t about women have to compromise.
As another example, a man that my *Khalu (also in the UK) *knew also used to beat his wife. And this couple was pretty educated, the husband a high level banker and the wife had some degree in maths.

No offense to you, and I do not doubt you are wrong, but personal anecdotes on GS to me dont mean much. Some people base their entire opinions about certain things on this forum by presenting their phuppos, tayas, chachas daugthers and all.
But nevertheless, let me ask you this. Was the victim or her mother educated? By educated I mean educated in the U.K., not Pakistan. Also, your mother can also report this crime as a silent observer. Now this is another thing, we tend not to get involves in other people's mess, but someone's life can be at stake here. Dont they have neighbors, that can sense this happening? If I lived in a house in UK and heard a neighbor scream, I would report it. Bruises, scars, marks are enough evidence for investigators to determine what's going on.

Your point about education, therein lies the problem. Most girls get a kind of education which is very harmful to them. It's hammered into their minds that they have to be "obedient" and subservient to their in-laws/husband. It's a part of our (barbaric) culture. As an example, did you watch the Dairy Milk ad which aired during Ramzan in which the whole family is sitting around the girl on her wedding night and telling her things like,"Don't offend your in-laws", "Do everything they say" etc. DO you see the problem here? It's hard wired into most girls' brains that they have to live their lives as the junior partner. It's ingrained into our culture so much that they even made an ad out of it (and ads always show something that people can connect with).
Coming to your second point, bro, there are whole "Mini Pakistans" in the UK. Entire neighborhoods filled with desis. And people there live pretty much like they do in Pakistan, you know, same culture and stuff. So just like no one reports anything here, no one does there either.
Plus, if I just insulted you all the time, you wouldn't scream or get marks, so who would know?
Re: Domestic Violence statistics..
According to my personal observations, majority of Pakistani men who are raised and born in western countries don't beat their wives due to western system influences. I can't speak for Pakistani men born and raised in Pakistan, they are considered dominant gender in that land...
Re: Domestic Violence statistics..
When women can pop up babies with no sweat, then these beatings are like men swatting a fly with their hands for these women.

I can speak for Pakistani men born and raised in Pakistan as I am one of them. All of them beat their wives very bad, so never go near any one of them.

We’re the dominant gender, ain’t nobody gonna stop us ![]()

Re: Domestic Violence statistics..
Domestic violence is under reported by all races, there is still a lot of shame in admitting you're a victim. I'm not been controversial just to be a troll but there are some women that are always a victim, they just always go for the abusive type. Those women that just feed off all the drama and have been beaten by every partner they have had, I have very little sympathy for those women.
