since its very cold these days i was just wondering that is is acceptable if i dance in privacy with a core purpose of doing a good workout

If your core intention is workout then you should be aware that there are many exercises for room other than dancing. If your core intention is enjoying dance then kindly dont make excuses and dont do mockery of islam like this.
