Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

Re: Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

OhioGuy is a true American and a patriot.

Re: Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

I support president Bush, but not on all issues. There are certain issues, where I think he could have handled things a little different/better. I am kinda content with the support he has given to Pakistan, although, IMHO, Pakistan deserves alot more, for what we have done...

Re: Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

… and that would be… what? You mean “Are you with us or against us”?

Re: Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

support bush?

id rather kiss a public toilet seat! :2guns:
hes has no qualities whatsoever to be leading a country, be it USA or uganda. uneducated, warmongering, anti islamic, stuttering prick.

Re: Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

I support the Green Party..

Re: Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

Clinton is weak & frail after his by pass…

Re: Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

I never supported this bozo. I worked against his election in 2000 and even harder against his re-election in 2004. Two things really scared me about his nincompoop - his handling of foreign affairs and vacancies on the Supreme Court. One has been realized beyond my worst nightmare and the other is happening now with 2 vacancies.

Re: Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

and too bad for you he won both times. Sucks to be the opposition.

Re: Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

That's a very poor question. "Support" him in what sense and on what issues? I think what you are more trying to learn about is whether any Guppies think, on balance, he has done a good job.

I personally think he has done a good job, all things considered. And, I think he has done a better job than either Al Gore or John Kerry would have done if faced with the same challenges.

He is not headed for Mount Rushmore. But, he has provided stable leadership in trying times.

Re: Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

MV, his reaction/lack thereof in the NO tragic events has doomed his legacy forever. He cam across as a pompous SOB who did not care for the poor folks. I am not saying that is how he is, but that is what it came out to be. Unfortunatley, this behavior will be assoicated with his presidency forever.

Re: Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

^ Actually he has done a very poor job. I would rank him as one of the worst presidents we have ever had. This guy is high on "words" but low on actions. for example: the war on iraq. I was all for the war, I still am as a principled action, his execution is pitiful to say the least. NO is just a debacle. Poor administration and execution of strategies.

Re: Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

i like him...looks too well-grounded to act media-savvy....clueless ppl mistake it for stupidiity...reminds me of nawaz sharif...:p

Re: Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

At the Naseeb party i saw this guy wearing a t-shirt with senior and junior bush side by side. The line below read Dumb and DUmber :D

Re: Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

I saw him too! Loved that shirt, also the 'Muslims for Bush' ppl were there at ISNa last year, didnt see them this year though, but then again I didnt pay close attention.

Re: Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

Those that share your perspective on GW probably share your perception of him re: NO. Those that think he’s done a pretty good job overall probably have a different perception of what he has done in the wake of Katrina.

My own take on NO is that the mayor of NO and the Governor of Louisiana completely and utterly failed to discharge their responsibilities both pre-hurricane and post-hurricane and that the President did a pretty good job of getting the vacuum filled. The images of him embracing and comforting the poor victims of the aftermath (both black and white but predominantly black) don’t paint a portrait of a “pompous SOB” to me.

The mayor knew very well that a large number of residents had no way to evacuate the city. There were 2,000 school buses available to evacuate people. Why were people not told to go to the Convention Center and Superdome two days before the storm hit to get on those buses and have them head for Houston? Instead, they were safely locked up in a parking lot and were, of course, lost when the flooding came.

The local police and fire departments were rendered totally useless because they were not moved to safe locations and had no ability to mount a coordinated response. It may surprise you but it is the governor of a state that can make the first call to mobilize the National Guard by declaring martial law and a state of emergency. Why did the Governor, mayor and local police officials not coordinate with the National Guard before the hurricane hit to coordinate a possible immediate post-hurricane response? Why did the Governor of La. not immediately mobilize the National Guard?

I’ll quite agree that our nation’s inability to respond quickly to this kind of a crisis is chilling. Frankly, it appears as if the only organization capable of the required response is the US military. And I’m not real comfortable with the idea that the military ought to be the first responders to civil emergencies.

Re: Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

I think when they lay the actions of La. Miss. and Alabama side by side on a timeline you will see which state and local entities mobilized, declared martial law, mandated evacuations, and pre-postioned people and resources effectively and which ones did not. Somehow I find it hard to imagine that people really think that there are vast hordes of National Government workers standing by to be dusted off in an emergency. And to somehow imagine that ONLY the Federal Government has the responsibility for the care of it’s citizens ignores about 200 years of States Rights discussions.

And by the way, to date the Governor of LA STILL has not ceded control of her National Guard to the Federal Government.

“Blanco has refused to sign over control of the National Guard to the federal government and has turned to a Clinton administration official, former Federal Emergency Management Agency chief James Lee Witt, to help run relief efforts.”

Re: Does anyone on Gupshup support George W Bush?

Too bad for my country, more than how it affects me. But I have the satisfaction of knowing I did what I could and stated my positions in a state that is so red it glows from outer space.

Yes, the city and the state bears the brunt of criticism for the dismal response to Katrina, but FEMA, Homeland Security and the administration which is supposed to oversee these was absymal. For all the hoopla over emergency response post 9/11, this shows that the adminstration has failed in protecting/saving their own people.

Mount Rushmore? He’d be lucky to be grafitti on a subway wall.
