mirch, when it comes to religious faith, is there anything you know for certain? perhaps you should start by listing everything you are certain of, and then we can formulate a way for you to derive proof of love by god from those axioms.

I’m surprised you’re asking this, as opposed to answering it for your kids. Your question is quite personal, it’s hard for someone else to answer it for you.
As for me, I believe Allah is exacty how I perceive Him to be. It’s all in our mind. If you perceive Him to be benevolent, benevolent you will find Him. Same goes for love. Focus on his lovable, nurturing traits, and his love will encompass you.
We all have our own spiritual journey. Some things may take a lifetime to unfold, as we experience certain losses leaving us off to emptiness or either accomplishments that lead us to gratitude. Either way, at some point we all get an answer.
