Re: Doctor who converted to Islam and was working for Red Cross beheaded in Balochist
There is no measure to gauge the popularity, but you can say before 2007 (record bomb blasts in 2008-2009) people didnt know much about taleban, but when they showed their true colours I dont think many people would want to live under them. Their short stint in Swat is also a testimony, ask any one from Swat about that period.

Very sad news from Balochistan. A 60-year old doctor from Scotland who became Muslim 30 years ago and who came to help his brothers in faith in Pakistan had had his life ended in the most horrific faction.

Does it really matter that he was a convert to Islam, surely this is a crime against humanity regardless of his religion???
Re: Doctor who converted to Islam and was working for Red Cross beheaded in Balochist
Is it not sad to see a 60 year-old aid worker being brutally murdered for helping the underprivileged people of Pakistan? Our condolences go out to the family and friends of Dr. Khalil Dale. Do we not see terrorists target aid workers who by choice go help suffering humanity in remote places of the world? Dr. Dale was one of those who had served in many Muslim countries before he came to Pakistan.
What has surprised us is that even when the TTP claimed responsibility for this horrendous act of brutality we still see some who indulge in conspiracy theories and blame CIA, RAW and MOSSAD. Do we not disrespect the dead with our conspiracy theories and give credence to these brutal killers? Is it not time to go after these killers with support from all sides so brutality for any reason is stopped once and for all? In the last few months the terrorists’ kidnapping and atrocities have increased. It is more important now to overcome our differences and focus on the common goals of eliminating the terrorist threat in the region, which can only be done if we look forward together as partners.

Dear Maj Nevers,
My reading is following:
It is the belief of such conspiracy theorist that TTP is created and operated by CIA and RAW as a strategy to keep Pakistan in the state of turmoil. This way, such state of turmoil and usage of puppet govt. of Pakistan, CIA/NATO is justifying its stay in the region.

I would love to know the popularity index of Taliban in Pakistan.
I wouldn't expect it to be significant since after 2001.
it should be all time high when so-called leaders like Imran Khan to Jammat Islami Munawar Hassan openly support the warriors of Islam and there holy war.

Indeed Dr. Dale was a true Muslim … that is what you are saying isn’t it? What I see is no motive … There is absolutely no motive for the TTP to have killed this man … If anything he was probably involved in helping out save their lives … It appears he was an easy target for those who want to continue war in that region - in which case there is no conspiracy required to conclude that there are only two groups who want to war in that region … that is TTP and yourselves …
Strange how you can group people - you choose to claim the title of hero and call the opposition the enemy deserving of your wrath … however, the most of us view you and your enemy as people lusting for violence and the rest of us are spectators and the unlucky ones are collateral fall out.
Re: Doctor who converted to Islam and was working for Red Cross beheaded in Balochist
conspiracy theorists never go away sadly, not sure if it is an inability to change perspective or that they too know that their arguments are on weak premise and are covering for something else. e.g. the birthers in US that I keep running into, essentially racists and bigots who can’t admit that in public. Similarly the apologists and conspiracists in that part of the world just can’t seem to let to that taleban and their types are just not good people.
