I know you guys are designers and into the whole fabric thing but to a normal person, whoes probably gonna get sick of wearing this outfit once or twice(atleast I am), it doesnt really matter what the quality is. Maybe for my wedding outfit i would be worried but other than that, as long it looks good and it costs less I am in :o

Ur right Barfee, wht I’m tryin to say is that fashion changes sooo quickly here in Karachi that spendin tooo much money on fabric for casual or formal wear doesnt make sense for ur weddin or baree makes sense.

ermm.. if u think a design that was made in jamvaar silk will still look fantabulous in polyester... then we've got bigger issues here...
haan... for lawn suits and clothin to be worn at home after marriage i woudlnt spend too much on.. but for those outfits that i will wear right after marriage , they had better be of excellent quality.
but i guess each to their own :)

^ hehe thats so funny, I have spent about 2000 ruppees on lawn suits and actually alot more on casual stuff because I think that needs to be a better quality cuz you are wearing it alot and washing and all that.
Khawateen I dont think these fake designers go that low on quality. And we all that when you are buying designer outfits the material and embroidery is not hte only thing you are paying for, you are also paying for the name(which is usually bulk of the cost).

Okay I dunno abt desi stuff, but for “western” wear, i always spend a lil bit more on winter coats, and slacks and jeans n sometime shoes, coz those r classic things that u build ure wardrobe on.. shirts n some accessories i go cheap on. mind you, the most xpensive coat i ever got was $100

You gotta make the decision about pricing and fabric quality makes a hell of a difference. We got pure jamewar silk suits from Hilal Silk in Karachi for about rs 700/1200 per yard/meter depending on their weaving and at Mahbub Baksh market the artificial poly jamevars were rs 500 for an entire suit (5 yards/meters). For the girls under 12 we used the arti jamewar as they grow so quickly but every one else chose the pure silk jamewar and the touch and feel and look was well worth the price differencial.

Don't go to kehkashan its a total rip off!! Go to Gulf Shopping center in clifton instead. They can copy anything and they also have all the magazines with them so you can just pick out an outfit, buy the fabric in the same market and they will make it for you. The prices at Gulf are 75% cheaper then at Kehkashan.

Excause me, u might just as well go to paposh, but they arent experts Gulf yes they do make copies I’v been there millions of times but their work camparing to Kehkashan is not neat, I know wht I’m talkin about from personal experiance.

Hmm, okay i went to the local bazaar here in Chungi (Lhr) and i bought white chiffon suit for like 200 rs.. i got gold-colored kaam done which cost 600 rs and the chemise plus darzi costs will bring it to 1100 or so.. The fabric seemed fine to me…

I also know what i'm talking about from personal experience. I've had hundreds of outfits made at Gulf and the work is excellent. I've never had any problems with the work not being neat or it coming apart even after having the outfits for a couple of years.

My clothes finally arrived today and I am heart broken. The copies are very similar to the designs I sent but the imitation copy is horrible. The material looks very cheap and the cutting is horrible, no attention to detail or anything. The embroidery work is too big & horrid!!!!!
I waisted so much money!
