Re: Do you think 35 is a bit old for a man to marry?
Hai Rabba!
Aur bi ghum hai zamana main shyd, but judging from this post apparently not. Lol!
35 is 35. Don't make it sound like 53, though i dnt c any issue with anyone marrying at any age as long as its above 18 and more importantly they are willing and ready for marriage.
Re: Do you think 35 is a bit old for a man to marry?
Examples? Khadijah (R) 40 when married to Muhammad (SAW)
Muhammad (SAW) was 50ish when marrying Aisha (R) and there is more ample evidence she was in the 15-20 age range at the time, not the 6 that every one likes to harp on about.
There was Fatima (R) who married Ali( r) and she was 20 at the time which was the equivalent of the 30's back then. Avg age of marriage at the time was 12-15. So she was considered a late bloomer.
John the baptist was conceived per theology by a post menopausal woman and prophet Zakariah who was in very old age at the time. The conception is considered a miracle.
Abraham married his second wife Hajira in his late years. Was in his 50's and Sarah his first wife was having difficulty conceiving.
I mean these folks were 35 plus in those marriages and pregnancies. So why is this an issue for you guys?
Re: Do you think 35 is a bit old for a man to marry?
Letting aside the small issue of the crebility of the ages and also your dubious conversion to today's ages - most of them were second marriages.
The question is: is 35 a "bit" old...
If someone can't say yes and also keep a straight face then they in all probability have some vested interests clouding their judgement. Take the no answers with a pinch of salt plz.
35 is old. Its above average for muslims etc. Its probably unhealthy and unnatural not to have intimate relationships before then.

And how about Methuselah? How old was he when he got married?
