I add salt ............to both pasta and rice

I can't stand bland rice or pasta. We salt the boiling water whether making rice or pasta.

i never add salt to rice but to pasta sometimes i do sometimes not...!!!

Salt always ... but I try not to exceed half tsp in two cups rice ... ( I strain the excess water later on , so the salt goes out and just enough is absorbed by the rice )

Same with the pasta ...
