Do pakistani girls wear this?

Re: Do pakistani girls wear this?

Ok now u listen to me, Why does a culture excist ? we have our own pakistani culture, if every girl will do what she wants, then there will be no difference between a pakistani girl and american girl, american girls wear whatever they want cause they parents dont mind, and it doesnt matter in their culture, even they go to the disco or drink, or whatever, they will find a partner who does the same, in american or dutch or whatever angreez culture its not a big problem, but for us it is ...

So u mean to say that the pics i posted, if a pakistani girl wants to wear that, ppl must say Wah Wah every pakistani girl has to be like this .. ?
A culture is for ur pehchaan, if a girl will wear that on street, no one will ever believe, well no pakistani will ever believe she is pakistani, There is ofcourse no problem with wearing jeans or western clothes, I wear it to, but this is just crossing the limit to far..

And so long u are muslim, its never normal, cause even some non-muslims dont wear this , as a girl wearing these type of clothes, no one has respect for that girl, no matter how nice u are, but in pakistani culture this is just not accepted .. thats my opinion and the way i think..

Re: Do pakistani girls wear this?

^In defending Pakistani culture/girls, you need not make huge, general, and unsubstantiated claims about "American" culture/girls and their parents. How can you say American parents don't care what their daughters wear? Sounds like a remarkably ignorant comment.

Re: Do pakistani girls wear this?

Im American-Pakistani. I was born in NYC and raised here my entire life, and I think I dress more moderatly than many girls in Pakistan. So obviously, the "Americans" your talking about are the ones you see on TV or in movies. And Im not saying that ALL Pakistani girls should wear revealing clothes. Thats the farthest thing from what Ive been trying to say. All I am saying is that if a Pakistani girl wants to wear that, she has the right too. In the end, its her choice and if she chooses to go against her religion in doing so, she has the right to. She has to deal with the complaints from her parents, not anyone else. And another thing Im trying to point out is that if many of our girls are afraid to wear tanktops, skirts, etc. because of fear of other Pakistani's gossiping about her, that she totally loses the sight of the fact that ISLAM forbids it.

Re: Do pakistani girls wear this?

You’re totally correct.
Zaima, if a muslim girl can walk around the streets of North America wearing a hijab or a burka then why can’t a girl in Pakistan wear whatever she feels like wearing. That being said, i would definitely not be comfortable wearing that in the streets of Pakistan cuz people should dress according to the environment. And if everyone in Pakistan is going to think a girl is besharam for wearing sleeveless or a miniskirt then I dont wanna dress like that and get those labels. But then, i’m all for freedom of speech/action so if someone wants to wear a miniskirt in Pakistan i’d be the last person to judge them.

Secondly, if the rich in Pakistan wear miniskirts they have a complex? I guess you could say the same thing about Pakistanis who wear saris(indian complex) or burkas(Arab complex) lol i made those up but my point is that just because a person chooses to dress a certain way doesnt mean they have a complex. A lot of these “rich miniskirt wearing complexed” people are the kindest, most broad minded and patriotic Pakistanis i have ever met.

And to get back on topic, someone already said that MAG fashion caters to the elite and not everyone can relate to that. FAQ, Libas and all these other magazines cater to the elite which is why the outfits cost a lot of money and are different from what the average Pakistani would wear. The majority of fashionconcious Pakistani women can relate to the styles in Akhbar-e-jehan and Jang fashion(i said fashion concious because i’ve heard some girls say that the clothes in Akhbar-e-jehan are too flashy and not what a muslim shoudl wear). I wanted to add a rolleyes thing but then i’d be doing the same thing Zaima is doing

Re: Do pakistani girls wear this?

No matter how you people justify it islamically its WRONG, HARAM, EVIL. Pakistan is an Islamic state or atleast it used to be. And like i have said a million times, its one thing to do something wrong and admit it, another to deny it. So you just keep fooling yourself people.

Re: Do pakistani girls wear this?

^Secular Pakistan Zindabad(jk jk dont wanna start any fights :D )

Re: Do pakistani girls wear this?

You’re right. However given the current state of Pakistan, I say there are more important things to address to make a it a proper Islamic state than the length of hemlines. In a country filled with a remarkable amount of accepted corruption and one of the lowest literacy rates in the world (despite Islamic teachings), we shouldn’t be spending all the time, energy, and rhetorical arguments on destroying miniskirts.

Re: Do pakistani girls wear this?

never seen girls back home wearing clothes like these.:halo: …this honour goes to some paki girls living in the west and btw girls here r openminded unlike girls from there:p …

Re: Do pakistani girls wear this?

i totally agree with you but theres a growing trend in Pakistan towards "the more show the better it looks" kinda thing and we cant deny it. It bothers me because I love wearing shalwar kameez and its disgusting that you cnt find something decent there(in boutiques atleast).
