I tend to look at prayer as a tool, I don't think my prayer reward God in any way.
Its something God gave me to use.
In difficult time its not easy to keep calm and focus, prayer help establishing that.
It literly kill the noise(use less small span ideas) in the brain. That noise often stop us from seeing clearly.
I found prayer very useful.

I like to pray when things are going great - to thank Almighty.
When I am down I usually skip it =(
Paisay is not the only key to happiness .

I am sorry to you too for all the mess in your thread.
We can never thank Allah enough. You still have all your health and limbs to keep looking for job. Think about those who are unable to go out and look for job.
Only this thought should be reason enough to bow down in front of Allah and thank and pray to Allah.

Prayer is communication with Allah swt, just like u say Alhamdulilah for prayers answered..continue to bow before Him and Inshallah he will provide u with whatever u're looking for.
“Your Lord says: pray Me and I will answer you.” (40:60)
This verse from the Qur’an suggests that our prayers will always be answered. The Prophet (Pbuh) tells us, however, that when we pray Allah, He either grants us immediately what we have asked Him, or he may store it for us till the Day of Judgement when He gives it to us multiplied several times. When we are given it, we wish that Allah had deferred granting us everything we prayed Him for in this world. This means that for some of our prayers Allah will answer in this world. We feel that they are answered and we see the results with our own eyes. This enhances our feeling that our relationship with Allah is not something abstract. It is so real that it has its marked effects in our real lives.
You could have used man as in a generic representation of mankind… like we say, “where no man has gone before” or “man must be prepared for the worst” or “man is an animal” kind of deal

praying is not really dependent on one's own feeling but on continuous submission and faith, which are not derived by day-to-day feeling but a life-time feeling.
