Re: Do dead people hear you?
can i ask you what religion you practice? your not muslim, u say ur muslim but you dont believe what the Quran says. thats not possible.
I've read the Quran, it strengthened my faith, I do research on it too just to let you know as well as other religions.
Re: Do dead people hear you?
concerning the dead hearing, saying salaam to them in the cemetary doesnt mean they can hear you, salaam means basically "peace be on you"
Re: Do dead people hear you?
I agree ..salaam means basically " Peace Be on you".
* my friend u should try to make mr HYDER and ARMUGAL understand the same thing too. cuz they are getting upset cuz people here dont agree with them.:)*
Re: Do dead people hear you?
they don't. you must be one of the sunni, who belive they do. think how could a dead person hear, when they are 6 foot under the ground. and if they do then they must say something back which you don't hear, do you?
Re: Do dead people hear you?
i agree
Re: Do dead people hear you?
Another way of thinking is out of 5 senses, why only they are capable of using only one ie hearing.
IMO when a person dies all the senses are diminished alongwith the person.
Re: Do dead people hear you?
this is from the site which you mentioned.
I am truly amazed to read that the prophets are alive not only in spiritual sense but here it say in physical sense.
Alive in their grave? why they don’t come out then? ![]()
we can normally not see or feel them. What do you mean by “Normally” in this sentence, is it like you can see them in abnormal cases? what kind of abnormal cases?
Re: Do dead people hear you?
I hope you heard about Hazrat Muhammad’s :saw: journey of Mairaj. Before he transcended to the heavens, the Prophets :as: gathered in Al-Aqsa mosque for prayers. Our beloved Prophet :saw: led the prayer. That can be one of the “abnormal” circumstance.
Re: Do dead people hear you?
Messengers and prophets are special categories, if they can see it’s totally different, because we don’t even question if there were any witnesses, we just believe it as it is.
What I meant was is there any special circumstances where a normal man sees dead people in person (physically) as said earlier.
Re: Do dead people hear you?
Ok… yes I have heard instances of normal people (not Prophets), who have passed away and have come in contact with those who are still alive. However, none of these can be treated as a “hujjat” or as an example to be treated as a reference for following. They are just personal experiences which one may not be able to prove.
I don’t think this issue deserves any further regurgitation :).

Absolutely not, not physically and not spritually you can see the dead. In order to understand this, you must see what death is. If you are muslim you will be knowing else I can explain 'death' as per quran.
cheers!
Re: Do dead people hear you?
Yes I am a muslim but very tolerant and modern. Ismaili if you need to know.
Re: Do dead people hear you?
^ Yaar whatever sect, Quran is the fundamental pillar of Islam. If you dont take the Qurans word for it, whats your source of spiritual guidance?
Re: Do dead people hear you?
Perhaps I am not good Muslim to the piously indoctrinated or the people who believe in the Quran verbatim. Like the Torah, the Bible and Quran GOD spoke to a mortal. The words did not go on paper by god’s hand but with mans.
I am presently studying at the University religious history and the spread of religious ideology and the wars waged to influence the spread of religion. I study the Judeo-christian faith, including the faiths and spiritual beliefs of people from other civilizations both ancient and modern. I wonder what if the North American Indian instead traveled the Globe to Europe and Middle East and conquered the lands what faith would be practiced in those lands today. Makes me wonder what the face of religious demographics would look like?
Jews, Christians, Muslims all believe in the same GOD/ALLAH. There are Christian sects who believe dancing will bring the wrath of GOD. Yet I know many fine catholics who are honorable, honest, loyal and full of moral integrity and they dance. In Japan, the country with the longest living population ,( a lot of centenarians ) women and men dance, drink saki (alcohol beverage), practice their faiths (and not Judeo-christian or Islam) . My sister married a Greek man last year, orthodox, and their children will be raised to know not only each parent’s faith but others as well. It’s all about being a good spiritual being. Even atheists have spiritual goodness about them, they tend to worship the earth the live on and care for it .. But as in all faiths and beliefs there are even some crack pots there too that should be avoided.
This is how I am. I call myself a reform Muslim like a few of my friends also consider themselves. We chuckle at this but its how we feel comfortable in being and worhipping.
My parents took me to Islamic schools on Saturdays when I was a little girl, and to the mosque but they also encouraged me to participate in sports, take dance lesson, learn to play the piano (I was not good) and study hard in school. They encouraged us to learn other faith by activity and action. They have not only Muslim friends, but also Christian friends, jewish friends and Buddist friends and others. We have as a family visited their places of worship for their major religious occasions and I have celebrated Christmas and still do with many of my parents friends and my friends. I have played with the Dradel, eaten at the Channukha meal. In turn they learn about Islam also but in a very loving , openly manner.
I am not a good muslim to the pious or the religiously indoctrinated for I drink, dance, and occasionally smoke and yes I have a boyfriend and yes that happens to. But I do not rape, pillage, plunder, steal and kill and I do not support extremism of fanaticism of any kind in any religion. I go to school fulltime, work part time and respect my parents. I also volunteer in community and donate what I can to a couple of charities I believe in. Chirldrens and Wildlife/animal charities.
I have not tolerance for pious, fundamental Christians, i.e.Jehovah’s witnesses etc , thumping their bible into everyone’s face or the orthodox practice of Jewish faith because such people zap the fun out of life, condemn everything and are full of hatred and the worse kind. The pious kind, as if GOD was on their side and only their side in their choice of condemnation .. I find these people too judgmental , too parochial and it seems if we all believe in the same GOD why must it be with such dissention amongst us all.

Re: Do dead people hear you?
Ever seen dead men (or women) alive, in your dreams? And, What are dreams? What happens to you when you dream?
Re: Do dead people hear you?
If you belive that dead people are alive, then you must talk to them and if you talk to them then they must answer back and if the answer back then WHY don't you hear it. if a dead person can hear 6 feet under then why can't you hear them?
Re: Do dead people hear you?
So you are trying to say that Muslims are'nt tolerant and modern.
Re: Do dead people hear you?
nothing really.
Re: Do dead people hear you?
Sorry to disappoint you but, Ismaili’s are not Muslims. Which means that you can’t even be considered a “modern” Muslim nor a “reformed” Muslim even.
