Interesting thing to note that Shaikh Ayaz’s Book which I referred in OP was banned for mentioning such things by alleging that it promoted ideas against Islam by referring and appreciating these civilisations. The situation is still same, we can talk of those issues, but still there is a majority which believes that relating oneself to those civilisation means disassociation from Islam.

Islam doesn’t bar you from patriotism of your homeland. In fact, its natural to belong to your land and disassociation for whatever reasons is unnatural.

Before 1979, the situation wasent that bad…we were still muslims and going well…these are the after effects of Zia’s fake islamization
