Here’s why:
Alas, we men are less picky about the voices used in ads and voice prompts, and to appeal broadly to all segments while saving cost, companies tend to use female spokesperson and announcers.
FYI - here are some gender voice rules of thumb (will try to look up source):
- For advertising a non gender-imaged product , either a male or female spokesperson and announcer can be used for any/all target audience.
- For advertising a male gender-imaged product, either a male or female spokesperson and announcer can be used for any/all target audience.
- For advertising a female gender-imaged product, use a male spokesperson and either a male or female announcer if the target audience is men.
- For advertising a female gender-imaged product, use a female spokesperson and a female announcer if the target audience is women.
