Re: Dilemma is that a stable Afghanistan spells trouble for Pakistan
That is never going to happen not even in a million years, US will fight Russia via proxy by supporting various terrorist groups. There are two countries that US dare not take a panga with, I am sure US knows exactly who they are and knows its own limitations.
After getting a kick in the nuts in Crimea and Syria I suspect there will be a surge of terrorism in Russia, Putin better be prepared.

Some getting kicked in the nuts by expanding NATO right to russia's doorstep. In all, it might be a wake up call for EU but Russia can't hurt america by doing maneuvers in Eastern Europe. Syria is going according to plan as Assad's butchering of sunnis with hezbollah help that got AQ involved is exactly the kind of big sunni-shiite conflict that the west would love to happen in the middle east. In the end, syria gets destroyed due to some leaders' egos then the more the merrier.
If it was in western interest, like EU's interest in libya, then NATO intervened right away. I doubt that Syria is the iraqi army of 1987-8 that some say could give a hard time to like french, but syria is no match for the US. US can just jam away and then tear down any high level syrian air defences when IDF regularly flies out bombing hezbollah supplies and even a nuclear reactor with no retaliation from Syria. It is not like Israel gives USAID err IsraelAID to the the Syrians to turn the other cheek like drones in case of Pakistan.
Re: Dilemma is that a stable Afghanistan spells trouble for Pakistan
Inconsistencies and a flawed logic, Russia of today is not USSR of yesteryears that it had to go defend its ideology, gone are those days.
If anyone thinks that Putin will allow Ukraine to have (NATO) North Atlantic Terrorist Organization on its soil is day dreaming.
Forget Syria and its nuke program they never had one, rewind 20 years and see how many red lines US and the kosher state had to draw w.r.t. Eyrans nuke program, the red line rants of the west almost feels like a repetitive motions of an autistic child. Hell!! forget Eyran the Kosher state can’t even handle Hizb in 2006.
But then where is the red line hanji??? and how many kosher lines is US gona draw hanji!!! LOL
Read the very first reason below and read it loud and clear and if for some reason you do not comprehend ask, no harm in asking.
Re: Dilemma is that a stable Afghanistan spells trouble for Pakistan
It only makes sense for all the regional partners to be on the same page regarding the future of Afghanistan, especially when we are fighting towards our common goal of bringing peace and stability to the region. We certainly do not want conspiracy theories, anti-American sentiment and mistrust to plague our minds and risk everything that we have collectively accomplished in the past decades.
Stability in the region will only come if there is peace in both Afghanistan and Pakistan. Instability in one would cause instability in the other, especially due the porous border AF/PAK shares. There are certain challenges like the cross border militant attacks and infiltration, but we are confident that we can address these issues through mutual cooperation. Therefore, we are working closely with the Pakistani government and the Afghan National Security Forces to address this issue on both sides of the border. Training the ANSF and holding workshops with our Pakistani counterparts on the subject of combating IEDs, are some of the ways in which we are all working together to diminish these obstacles. The focus at the moment is to create a healthy environment for better coordination and decrease the level of mistrust between the three countries. There is a better chance of bringing peace and stability to the region in this path than the one laden with mistrust and hostility.

Many Afghans, especially the pashtoon ones dream of creating a 'Loy Afghanistan' by annexing KPK and north Balochistan, some even claim Kashmir,Islamabad and the rest of Balochistan.
This movement isn't dead, in fact almost every single Afghan-Pashtun dreams of this except the non-Pashtun Afghans who don't want to be ruled by Pashtuns; and sizable number of Pakistani-Pashtuns also envision a 'Loy Afghanistan' though i can't quanitify a certain %age but if there are any Pashtun members on this forum they could tell us about how Pakistan-Pashtuns feel about this.
