Re: Dijjal
Probably the wrong thread for this, but why was some of what was revealed to him in the Quran and so much left out? It seems it is very important to Muslims that the Quran is unchanged, yet the accept hadith as if is something more than the writings of what someone heard someone else say they heard from someone else that Muhammed said in his presence.
Semi, can you prove anything from the past beyond what history writes about it? I would say No. I guess history is what testifies the belief of muslims that the Quran will remain unchanged and it has been that way. There are always some rogue reports but there credibility cannot be established.
To me personally as I have stated before ahadith are narrations and a lot of our Islamic history is preserved in them. Again there is no way to authenticate beyond what is already considered authenticated. To me following ALL the ahadith is not a worship or even rational but many fundamental tenets can only be understood through them and practiced through them.
For the sake of argument I will agree that ahadith have been known to be fabricated but the Quran has not. However fabrications have also been rooted out. If there still are some well at least they are very confined and I hope people use common sense when analyzing them.
