What coward police? Doesn’t he know what ANP did to the protection gear that was supposed to be bought for police? He probably doesn’t have any sons in police. What did PTI do for corruption in police protection gear purchase case?
PESHAWAR - National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is investigating reports of Rs.7 billion corruption in the purchase of arms and vehicles for the police department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to the media reports, the inquiry body has concluded its initial report after arresting budget officer Javed Khan and a contractor of the police department, Arshad Majeed, who were allegedly involved in the Rs.7 billion deal.
Officials said bigwigs of the police department, including a former IG Police, were found involved in the misappropriation of billions of rupees.
According to NAB, the police department during 2009 and 2010 purchased bulletproof jackets, weapons, vehicles and some equipment allegedly through advance payment to a company without assessing quality of the provided items…
What ruling parties? Who are they and what powers do they have?
If anything its the intelligence and army who can't bothered to be serious about this issue. Exactly how many terrorists have escaped and what exactly was the response from the establishment? Why didn't any army general called an emergency meeting or addressed the public? Where does the judiciary stand on this matter? Where is CJ sou motto not only for this particular case but all other previous jail break incidents?
Take a deep breath. Army's job is to conduct operations and capture these terrorist which they have been doing for many years now. Once captured they are handed over to the civilians to be tried / convicted / hanged by our civilian courts. It would make sense to lay the whole blame on Army or establishment (the favorite buzz word of the year) if they had complete authority in capturing, and then trying these thugs in military courts and then hanging them. Believe me the justice in military courts is swift and conclusive. You wouldnt have 100s of these homeboys languishing in jails pending trial and lack of prosecutory evidence.
If Army tries to throw its weight around, either thru an address to the nation or statements to media, then folks like you are quick to blame them again for being too political and that they need to stay in barracks and what not.

Errr folks like me? Sorry you are assuming bit too much here.
I support army reporting from barracks and front lines and letting the nation know what's going on and where the enemy stands, an essential aspect of war, right? That's not being political, that's army doing its job. Ofcourse people have every right to hear from the guards who are supposed to be protecting them.

Security lapse yes. But is it only provincial or PTI's fault? Yes its ministers are clueless when it comes to aftermath of any attack but as an incident its a collective failure. DI khan is around 6 km away from South wazirisitan, right? Police is ill prepared to deal with such attacks and it has been that since last 5 years. Curbing terrorism is most important, not for this province but for whole pakistan but PMLN has no clue what to do and yes PTI does not either but PTI will depend on federal to some extent when it comes to policy making, intelligence sharing and planning.
Conflicting reports so far about numbers of escapees. One of the uncles who used to be in police said that this jail is one of the most secure ones in pakistan, let alone province. So an attack there is an indication that terrorists are getting braver and smarter.
Well-said. plus don't forget that DI Khan is surrounded from three sides by FATA. so it is also very much a federal security lapse
