He deserves his ranking. Phenomenal rise in the last 12 months. Lets hope for the sake of good cricket he keeps his performance going, eventhough I wouldn't mind him failing against Pakistan. :p

Kamran Akmal is a very good player in his own right. Look at his record and you will see how many times he has performed when Pakistan needed him. Go check his record.

Dhoni ROcks, in the recent ODI series first time since JAyasuria and De silva in 1996-1997, i enjoyed watching somebody who kicked Pak's butt this way....he has proven in 18 months that he is a force on the asian wickets, regardless of the match situation.
Dhoni has scored 1300+ runs since Pak's tour of india and Afridi 525, that something i give alot of credit to dhoni.....Bhut he is still to prove himself outside the subcontinent.

Dhoni has started a new era of wicket keeper + blaster. A very good entertainer to add to the game of cricket. Hats off!

the hard-hitting and entertainment factor all is fine, but that isn't why i like him.
i like him because of his clutch performance ability when India needs him most. and in such games, he comes in after confidence (in theory) should be low and the top order has failed....but that doesn't seem to affect his confidence or morale.
the only thing i am waiting for as far as Dhoni "proving himself" is how well he can play abroad. but realistically, even if he is only average abroad, his home abilities still prove his value as far as i'm concerned.

Dhoni displaced by Gilchrist, who is now at the number 1 position by 3 points. These rankings are real crap. They have Lara below Chanderpaul. What a disgrace! Honestly!!!!!!!!!!
