If i count my employer machine then I have another HP.
As long as your employer has reserved it for your use , you have it so it will be in your list of computers you have.

HP pavillion slimline just over a year old.
Sony Viao Laptop 2 years old.
I Mac for editing suite just aquired that this summer.
Oh and somewher theres a battered old Toshiba Laptop too... probably in the cellar with the other junk.

Right now, I am on a lenovo ideapad, Works good for the intended purpose, and the only thing I have changed is the LCD (glossy to matte). My other newer baby is the sony vaio that has a fast drive in it. I also have a Mac and I guess it is more of a fanboy symbol than anything, since I am not doing much of photoshop on it these days

An ideapad y series from 2009 (lets see how it lasts) and a desktop replacement sony fw290 that is somewhere.

Was thinking one of those new Sony 3D laptops (F21Z1E/BI?) or a Macbook Pro.. which would be better?

I doubt you game, but hey you could be an exception for girls, then you can use macbook pro if using OS X is not the death knell for you. Price is an issue for some people, but then I've gotten good apple store service unlike issues with sony. My Sony Z with the polycarbonate finish has already started to develop black scratches where the finish has become discolored, when I use it very carefully and it remains in a sleeve in a backpack when not in use. You would save with sony as far as the price goes.
