Re: Desi menu for non desi guests
I'd initially been leaning towards boneless chicken biryani too since it's pretty much a complete meal -- along with salad and raita. I thought I'd have some grilled kebabs of some sort, as well as a veggie or daal dish on the side with pita bread, but hubby thinks biryani is too complicated for them. Most of them are redneck albertans (ahem) without much exposure to other cultures, so the simpler the better, he thinks. There's only one couple who, not only enjoys desi food, but also cooks desi food at home from time to time -- in their own way of course. The most shocking part was finding out the guy made Saag using kale, not too long ago. :D
Afro, most asked for very mild spices, and a few can't handle ANY. That's why I'm finding it a little complicated.
